El Huarache Veloz is the REAL deal. If you are looking for AUTHENTIC Mexican food you have found it! There is a large variety of dishes to choose from and I struggled to pick a dish. I ended up ordering the 3 taco plate with rice and beans but I asked for all beans and my husband ordered a Guisado and was given the option of meat and either red or green sauce. I chose carnitas and cabeza for my tacos and my husband ordered the pork chops with the red sauce. My husband's dish was like his abuelita had cooked it for him and my tacos were perfectly seasoned and the rice and beans were on point. The restaurant is small and simply decorated but the food is a colorful explosion of flavors. Huarache Veloz will be our to go spot every time we visit St. Petersburg.

I usually order to go. I been here a few times and every time has been good but not great. This last time, I order a Steak Torta and my bread was burnt, there was a minimum amount of steak. Asked for hot sauce before leaving and the lady said was some in the bag. When I get home, no hot sauce. I ended up peeling the burnt (Stale) bread off. I probably won't recommend this place after my few experiences. Find another one with better customer service and quality control. TLDR: Burnt bread, bad customer service and little to no protein in the food.
Unique Mexican food experience. Never had Hurache before. I had the 2 meat option with carnitas and Al pastor. Also got the Carne asada con nopel cebolla, chips salsa and guacamole. Asada was thin but super flavorful. Yum! Also got a large Horchata. Good as others have said.

If you want the most authentic, delicious and unique Mexican meal of your life you HAVE to head over to El Huarache Veloz! The huarache is my top choice on their menu. The one pictured has tinga (chipotle marinated chicken) and chorizo. It's kind of like a flatbread but with corn stuffed with black beans instead of dough. The flavors will start a party in your mouth and you will be leaving full and happy.
This is the best. Delicious and authentic. Seating is limited in this cozy room, but there is a convenient order and takeout window.
The tacos are awesome. The enchiladas are better. The Huarache is king.

so i was craving cicis pizza and tacos on this day. So i had to stop by and grab two tacos. Marinated pork and the steak. They were delicious and authentic. Good price for tacos and not small. I will say the salsa verde is spicy but that’s me not being able to handle spicy.
