My fellow Soldier and I had quite the positive experience today for lunch at the Island Escape Grill. Most importantly, the owners were warm, friendly, professional and accommodating. I ordered the Jerk Chicken with rice and peas. The portions were more than sufficient. I had plenty left over for a second meal. The patrons that came in while I was there, appeared to be repeat customers which speaks to the quality of the food. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food and amazing customer service.

I normally don’t leave reviews but the food here is so good and so seasoned I just had to. It’s like every bite is full of flavor. On top of that they have real cabbage not that frozen peas and carrots bs other people serving

I loved the cabbage and festival.Bought curried goat and jerk chicken. Curried goat was very tender but the gravy was too salty though for both meals, couldn't enjoy it much. You can use half the amount of salt and the food will still be good.

I ordered oxtails and whole fish for take out and my heart absolutely SANG when I opened these boxes. I knew they'd be large servings coz they were HEAVY, but I didn't expect such generous portions of MEAT. They looked so good and tasted even better. I order oxtails every chance I get and theirs is one of the best I've had, not just in Pinellas but anywhere in Florida. The whole fish was still nice and crispy even if it's been doused with sauce. Even the fried dumplings were so good and tasty!

My God... Some instagram reel got me obsessed with trying Ox Tail. Me and my son found this very humble little hole in the wall and it BLEW us away.

To be fair, all credit goes to the lady in the back, even know there is a guy up front, she does everything. Shes the cook, and I think owner as well...
So the very next day, we tried Ox Tail from a cuban place in Tampa.. I like this much more.
PRO TIP.... Get the cabbage.. Its is world class delicious!

I ordered oxtails with rice/peas and cabbage. It was so nasty. The cabbage was the worst thing on the plate it tasted like it was boiled in Worcester sauce the rice didn't taste like rice. And the oxtail was horrible rubbery the texture was way off. And that wannabe hush puppy that they give you is not it, I had such high hopes for them, now I know why there only open 3 days out of the week. They do not serve authentic Jamaican food.

Five Stars. Delicious and authentic. I jJust got the jerk chicken, beef pattys, extra greens (IUKTUK!) and a side of their fried dumplings. Their food is consistently ? and I’m so happy they’re near me. Hands down - they have the best fried dumpling in St Pete and also the only pattys I can seem to find that are homemade. Seriously, the pattys are so good.? The husband and wife team that runs it are so genuinely friendly as well. I can’t wait to branch out and try some other things. This ???? girl gives Island Escape Grill ????. Def recommend!
