A group of us recently gathered together for a “Celebration of Life” memorial dinner for people we loved who were murdered in a car accident. Despite the solemness of the moment, we were given a private room which allowed us to move around and mingle with each other. I’d like to personally thank Ricardo and the entire team at Café Maxx for taking care of us. The service was impeccable. And a few of us happened to be returning customers. And the rest of us, we’re definitely coming back, as well.
Thank you so much to Café Maxx for providing all of us an opportunity to grieve while at the same time celebrating the memory of those who were taken too soon. There really aren’t enough words to express my personal appreciation to all of you except to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. Thank you, ever so much!

This was our first time dining and I would highly recommend it! Our food was excellent and the ambience was cozy and elegant. The tables are dressed in white cloths and the decor is modern and sophisticated. My husband had the crusted grouper and I had the half portion of shrimp scampi. Best of all, the service was excellent and had a good pace for our special dinner.

The tuna sashimi pizza is to die for! Run don't walk, you won't be disappointed! Staff is top notch too! I have too many favorites to list. My staple and worth the drive from Delray and flight from anywhere! ◡̈

Every time we are in town we try to schedule at least two evenings at Cafe Maxx. We love the owners and staff. They are the nicest people and make you feel at home. Now on to the food! We have never had a meal that wasn't delicious. We absolutely love the homemade focaccia before the meal. The appetizers are delicious. Favs of ours are the tuna, calamari, lobster and crab cakes,and scallops, but you can't go wrong with any of the appetizers. For dinner, I've had the Bell and Evans Buffalo chicken. If you do not care for a lot of sauce, just ask for it on the side or less. They are super accommodating. The duck ravioli in brown butter is my absolute go to, but the Bolognese Pappardelle is delicious too. Try the steak sushi. My husband loved it. And again, you can't go wrong. They have other wonderful choices as well. If you are a cocktail person, you won't be dissatisfied! We love the martinis. Save room for dessert because WOW!! My fav is the house made cinnamon gelato in an almond lace cup(tastes like a heath bar to me) served with a homemade cookie. I've also had the carrot cake, key lime pie, and my husband loves the mango sorbet in a lace cup. And if you order one of their fabulous desserts, make sure you order a cappuccino! We traveled with friends this time and introduced them to Cafe Maxx! They were very impressed with the entire meal that ended with the rock candy sugar stick that comes with the cappuccino bringing back wonderful childhood memories for all of us. It's one of my favorite parts. 😉 I cannot wait to go back again!!!
It was a fantastic experience! My Cosmo cocktail was perfect!  Our server was friendly and attentive. Our first course pasta was fabulous.  the menu was a little different than we read online, but the skirt steak and the halbut was great.

Chef Oliver always creates some amazing dishes! No wonder this restaurant has been a success for such a long time. I tried the crab and lobster cakes for the first time and they were Devine! This restaurant never disappoints!

Beware of their service and reservation. I made reservations days ago for my wife's birthday and they called 50 minutes before the reservation to say they have the restaurant full and can't accommodate us. Clearly they are not reviewing the reservations beforehand. Most other restaurants call the day before to confirm but it looks like Cafe Maxx doesn't honor reservations, make an effort to accommodate, or provide options.
After making reservations make sure to call because they don't seem to be aware of their system

We had reservations for Thanksgiving at 6:00 but weren’t seated until around 6:20. The tables were so close together and if anyone had mobility issues it was impossible to get through without people getting out of seats to get by.
I did let my server know when I ordered my food that I had a food allergy. She did not write it down and when the food was brought out nothing was said about it being for someone with an allergy. I ended up having an allergic reaction to my meal so beware if you have allergies. I emailed cafe maxx about my allergic reaction but did not receive a response.
We all loved our dinners. We got 2 desserts. The warm apple tarte did not look as we expected but it was so good. Apparently the key lime pie was very small but good.
