This place is nice! Environment is as German as it gets and the workers are the BEST. They know what they’re doing and what they’re speaking about and FOOD FOOD FOOD, sausages galore, pretzels and bread, and some delectable fish and salad were worth 100% every penny. And they have live music too!

The food is amazing, service could be a little better, but food is spot on!! And yes I'm German.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Checkers , This German restaurant is a true gem, delivering an authentic and delightful dining experience. The food was nothing short of amazing—every dish burst with rich, traditional flavors, from the perfectly crispy schnitzel to the burgers , The ambience was equally impressive, with a warm, cozy atmosphere that transported me straight to a charming Bavarian tavern.
A special shoutout to our server, Rodrigo, who went above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable. His attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and spot-on recommendations elevated the entire experience. Congrats to Rodrigo and the entire team for creating such a wonderful dining destination! I can’t wait to return!

First time visiting and already one of my favorites! Rodrigo was our server and added so much to the experience we’re definitely requesting him again next time. He was knowledgeable of the menu, gave great suggestions and had such a friendly persona we felt incredibly welcomed. I’ve ordered the catch of the day which was a massive grouper fillet with choice of two sides, I followed our server suggestion and had the hot potato salad with bacon! My husband ordered the Stroganoff with fries which honestly was the best I’ve tried in ages and will have it myself on our next visit. Our friend had the Bavarian Platter and man that was huge! We were all very happy to have found this place! Every single item in the menu is fairly priced and our bill was just under 100 so we were happy to be generous towards our server since there isn’t many places to visit with such genuine welcoming service, rich flavors, generous portion and low price. 10/10

Best authentic German food in all of South Florida! Big portions, extra friendly service, and yummy twists on German classics all make this place awesome. The steins decor and atmosphere are welcoming and give you a feeling of Europe in South Florida. Love their large beer selection as well! Prost!

We celebrated my German mom's 100th birthday here. They were incredibly nice in accomodating our special event. We could not have been more pleased. I dreamed to go to Germany for years, i finally went and enjoyed the food and the beers all over the country. Specially in Bavaria. But I realized that I don’t need to go that far to enjoy the same kind of food and beers. Checkers Old Munchen has it all. Very authentic German food. I love the beers and the decor. It is a little German corner in Pompano beach Florida. I wish I had my own stein to drink my favorite beer. Sometime I will. Never disappoint every time I go there, have great time with friends and family.

I come from a German heritage and have been looking for a good German restaurant for the past 20 years since we have been traveling to Fl. Old Munchen finally filled that quest. It is unfortunately a bit of drive from our new home in Boynton Beach but well worth the trip. Please open one a little further North by us so we can be a more frequent visitor.
