Went for Taco Tuesday and the food was middle of the road, hence the 3 starts. The part that is prompting me to write this review is that they added 18% gratuity to the meal for a party of 3 and did not say anything about it when they originally dropped the check or after they ran my credit card. I had already added a 20% tip before I noticed this and did not appreciate the auto grat at a restaurant located in the middle of Pompano (not on the beach and not in a touristy area)...
If you want authentic,come to El Jalapeno. The Pupusa and tacos are made with authentic ingredients. Fresh and homemade. The margaritas are made to order. Wendy our waitress was very helpful in describing all the items on the menu. We will be back!
I work for the city of Pompano, so I’ve eaten at almost every restaurant. I can say without a doubt that El Jalepeno Feliz is my favorite restaurant in the city. The food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious. The service, especially Wendy (?) is excellent and she makes an already good experience AMAZING. Highly recommended!!! * The kitchen is spotless too!
