The rudest front desk service I have ever experienced. There were no tables available, so we asked if we could grab seats by the bar, and the lady at the front desk lied to us and told us they do not serve dinner by the bar. Put me on the waitlist and told me they would text me in 1.5 hours when a table opened up. We never received a text, but went back to the bar for a drink after getting dinner elsewhere. Surprise - we saw everyone eating dinner at the bar and the bartender confirmed that they do serve dinner at the bar. Absolute disaster, train your staff to not be liars. For Houston’s corporate: it was a middle aged woman with brunette hair that did the lying at the front desk. From the reviews, seems like she’s been a consistent issue.

Even though the food was a four the ambience and exceptional service from waiters like Tyler truly make this restaurant a five star date night.

We have a really BAD experience with the Host. Our son is Autistic and obviously he don't behave like a normal child. She literally make everything possible for us to leave the restaurant as soon as possible and make us feel as we can’t be there. The rest of the personnel was really helpful and food was great.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Houston’s. A group of us, all moms enjoying a rare night out without our kids, were cut off after just one round of drinks. The reason? Apparently, we were "too loud." However, at no point did the staff inform us that our volume was an issue, nor was there anyone else in the restaurant to be disturbed.
When we asked for clarification, the manager, Angie, was incredibly rude and dismissive. Rather than addressing the situation professionally, she seemed more interested in shutting us down than providing any sort of customer service. We were looking forward to a fun, relaxing evening, but the way we were treated was both uncalled for and upsetting.
For a restaurant that markets itself as a place to unwind and enjoy, they completely missed the mark on hospitality. We won’t be returning.
Had lunch with friends. The service was excellent from the minute I walked in. Was a tad bit on the expensive side but food was good as well.

Food used to be so good. Now fish is breaded/fried not grilled. Brownie has cherries and nut shells in it. Tasted like plastic was melted in it.
So sad used to be great.

Never offered additional drinks, provided wrong drink and then acted like they did us a service by taking off the bill. Had to be told to clean off old glasses and empty plates. Worst experience in South Florida thus far, and by far the worst Houston’s experience.

If you have a party of 6 (I’ve heard even 5) or more don’t bother.
We went to Houston’s to take visitors out. It was my best friend’s daughter 18th birthday and we were celebrating before she goes off to college. The girls wanted to make it a special night so we all got dressed and headed to Houston’s for an early dinner. The hosted told us they couldn’t accommodate a party of 6 and we would have to sit outside. We headed outside and they told us they couldn’t seat that many.
The blank stares and the apathy is what kills me. It felt like a scene out of Pretty Woman. The place was not even 25% full. We’ve been there before, but I will never go back. Life’s too short to want to spend money at a place with poor service.
We ended up at JMarks. We didn’t even explain what a let down Houston’s was. There was a GM there who was the very exact opposite. From the moment she greeted us at the door, she was funny, kind, and made the evening very special. I would special any amount for memories like that.

I’m a regular at Houston’s on Pompano Beach. I go to this place at least two times a week spending close to $200 each visit at the bar.
I came in on a Sunday afternoon with a few designer clothing pieces on coming from a supercar event with my shirt being sleeveless, but a designer shirt and classy nonetheless.
I was told I couldn’t dine due to my clothing.
Understandably, there’s a dress code, but the bar and the restaurant was quiet. Although it won’t deter me from coming here, unfortunately, I won’t be tipping the bartenders nearly as heavily as I have been.
Cheers ??
This was our first visit to Houston's in Pompano. Not having one near our home in Pennsylvania,we decided to give it a try. From the moment we walked in,until we left, nothing but OUTSTANDING!! Food, atmosphere, service and staff were above 5 stars(if that’s possible)! Although we didn’t let them know,we were celebrating our 39th Anniversary and Houston’s delivered a great experience-can’t wait to go back!Special thanks go out to our waitress that day(7/26/24)- A.J.-You are AWESOME-you made it special!!
