Not going to lie, we were extremely confused when we walked in based off the reviews. If you’re looking for a vibe or great atmosphere this is not it. The sushi was below average. Nothing special, loosely rolled and I kept hearing the microwave going off which concerned me. I wish them luck but we won’t be returning.

According to reviews, this place looked like a very good sushi restaurant to try for our party of six, but our experience was just pure frustration…The reception was rather cold upon entering the establishment. The vibe in here just felt sad, tired, and dreary. The menu was handed to us as a three ring binder that felt very awkward to flip through. Am I back in Graduate school? They were out of the Japanese spring rolls, and then ran out of chicken gyoza after we got one order to the table successfully. They were very good, but not enough for 6 people to share, so we were left very frustrated. In the middle of taking our order, the waitress stopped and sat another party and took their order before finishing ours, thus resulting in more frustration. At this point we were about to walk and go to Chaba Thai Kitchen, but the waitress returned to finish our order. We didn’t receive our shrimp tempura appetizer until the end of our meal (the kitchen forgot), and apparently, that other party that came in, and finished their meal before us, didn’t get everything they ordered as we heard the waitress apologizing to him. The food we ordered was okay, nothing remarkable or outstanding. We won’t return to this establishment when there are way better sushi restaurants in the area (i.e. Kaizen Sushi ?) that always have appetizers, gets them out on time, and staff who greets us with a warm welcome. Pompano Sushi is not for us and won’t be added to our dinner crew’s restaurant rotation.

There were 6 in my party, the waitress was unorganized. While taking our order she walked away from our table to greet a party that walked in.
Then proceeded to seat them and take their order, WHAT? After 10 minutes and her phone call later I had to tell her the rest of the table was ready to order. Finally she returned to take the order.
They didn't have spring roll (normal staple) and only 1 order of goyza. I ordered shrimp tempura and never got it. Each order came out slow in dribs and drabs. Four of us finished eating and number 6 was still waiting for his roll.
They supposed to have been open for 8 months? I'm not sure how they received the 4.8 out of 5? I couldn't even give a 1 star for service.
This place will not survive on the present course of actions!
For a better experience, go to Cha Ba eight blocks South of here faster and much better service!
One and done for my crew! ?

In short, despite my shellfish allergy, I wanted to surprise my husband with sushi because he loves it. So, I found this place after a Google search. Thus, based on the reviews and location, I decided to go there. The host was friendly and welcoming. But unfortunately, my husband was disappointed and did not enjoy the food. He did not enjoy the shrimp tempura, Big Boss roll, or the soup that was served in an unusual plastic container. NEVER AGAIN, a total waste of money. Although I meant well; according to my husband the food was trash. So, disappointed.

Sushi was AMAZING, but the atmosphere was a bit strange... server was leaning over the bar on her phone the whole time BUT was responsive when we needed something (although we had to ask). Music choices where strange too. BUT great hole-in-the-wall place as far as the sushi goes!

I decided to give this spot for the first time, and let me just say. Phenomenal isn’t even enough to explain the food and vibes. I was left speechless. The taste, the presentation, & the vibes was AMAZING! I’d definitely recommend this place. I WILL be coming back.
