A lots of nice food

Decent place. Sometimes the food is quite good, sometimes it's not. If you're in the mood for a large buffet, with a lot of variety, and don't really care how "good" it is... This is a great place!

Very wide selection from sushi to pork ribs and pot roast. An extensive selection of seafood dishes too numerous tome tion. Service was attentive serving beverages and clearing plates quickly. Setting is typical Chineese buffet.

The place was clean and efficient. They got us seated quickly and they were professional and friendly. There was no way the 3 of us could have sampled more than 1/4th of the items they had out. The food was ok. The stuff that I personally tried was varied and I went up 2x. Hot and sour soup was good. Most of the other items I tried lacked flavor. They weren't bad, but they were just sort of meh. If you decide to try them out, I would probably stick with more of the American type of food. If you do like sushi you will find a good variety and you may enjoy it. Me. Not so much.New:Last Sunday we went to Buffet City at 2150 Tamiami Trl, Port Charlotte. This was not our first time there, but we decided to come there early and arrived when they opened at 11 AM. I have to say, this was a much better experience for us as it was not busy at all. The food was all so fresh and you could move easily and pick out the morsels you wanted with ease. The place was clean and bright and without all the people, it was actually delightful. One thing I appreciate about Buffet City is the sheer variety that you are presented with. The food was all good tasting and as I said, it was fresh. It is one of the best places around if you are entertaining picky eaters. Even the fussiest person is bound to find something they will like. They have everything from sushi to beef; green salad items to seafood salads. It's amazing the amount of different foods they prepare every day. If you are ever near Charlotte Square, you should stop in and see it for yourself. I know you won't be disappointed in what they have prepared for you.

Great, great selection of food and sushi rolls, even during the lunch hour they had a rainbow roll! Amazing chandeliers and love “the kitch”. Will definitely be back again. We arrived for a late lunch so some things were sitting too long but everyone knows you have to go during prime time for a buffet. The have a Korean bbq

Worst Chinese food buffet we've ever been to. We find the their version of Chinese food very NON-authentic. Also they seem to favour dishes that are heavy protein, mainly chicken and shrimp. One very non-authentic lo mein dish on the buffet - really just flavoured spagetti noodles. Not much flavour to it and no other noodle dishes. One very bland rice dish. And you won't find much in the way of vegetables. I had to pick some broccoli out of a meat dish. No spring rolls, just dough-heavy egg rolls with a bit of cabbage in them. They had a good variety of sushi, however, worst sushi we've ever had. Dessert selection if you're into that was the best part of it, but I don't come to a Chinese Buffet to get bite-sized desserts. This buffet in winter of 2024 was $17.99 USD/pp+tax+tip. Best part (sarcasm...) was when the waitress came and brought our bill to our table before we were finished and had not asked for it. We do not recommend this restaurant.

My server was conscientious and took care of all my needs. Unfortunately I was facing away from the magnificent entryway and table after table of food options. There is just too much to choose from from the sushi that greets you up front to the hibachi that is available in the back. There are you standard selection of soups to choose from. I selected the hot and sour sour and added to it from the appetizer section (seaweed salad, kimchi to give it more spice and cooked shrimp which I hate peeling but I did and cut and added to the soup - now a meal). I made two fatal mistakes. The first was having a healthy breakfast at my hotel this morning. The second was not reading all the reviews on Yelp. The prices have gone up quite a bit for a SENIOR LUNCH. They now charge $13.97 from 11AM until 3:45PM. OUCH. I was not that hungry to warrant paying that much. I ate one more plateful of my favorite Chinese dishes, butter shrimp, chicken broccoli, cream cheese filled wontons and pot stickers which I cover with Orange Sauce, and chicken teriyaki on a stick. My stomach did not have room for more and certainly not for salads, fruit, sushi, hibachi or dessert. Please understand you need to go extremely hungry or it is not worth the price that is on the check. There is no longer any posted signs of the price anywhere and because of this I rate them as average 3 (although the food is 4). After tax and a $2 tip you are paying $17 for a Senior Lunch.

Friendly service, short wait, good food selection, especially seafood. Getting the shell crackers for crab and such requires you to inquire with the staff. But it's worth it, the crab is sweet.
