I was on a quick trip near my parents’ house in Port Charlotte and stumbled upon this gem—Howard’s Hershey’s Ice Cream. I had two scoops of praline pecan, and my daughter went with a vanilla shake. She’s had a lot of shakes in her time, but this one? She said it blew every other one out of the water. The flavor was on another level! Definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area.

Friendly place with great ice cream.

Howard (the owner) gives off a weird vibe. Also, my daughter wanted to try a couple flavors and he got stingy with her wanting to try a second sample. Mind you, three people from my family had already gotten cones at this point without getting samples. He said, “I only let people sample two flavors”. I’ve never heard that from an ice cream-shop in my life.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Went in 15 minutes before closing time and felt bad but promised our daughter ice cream. Howard and his team were SOOO friendly and welcoming. Did not rush us to pick and took the phrase “service with a smile” to the next level. Not to mention there are SO many choices of ice cream and each more delicious than the last. We have only been in that 1 time but it made a lasting impression.

Greeted immediately by a friendly staff when we walked in, and it was explained that we could choose 2 free samples. That was a tough choice considering there’s so many flavors to choose from! The flavors we chose were delicious, and they didn’t melt immediately upon being served. Once I took a moment to really look at everything , I realized there’s so much more than ice cream! The shop was clean, well maintained, and has a really fun wall of photos from happy customers. There’s also free popcorn to balance out the sweet.

Real Hershey's ice cream. Free popcorn. The owner works the counter, keeps the customers laughing, wonderful atmosphere. He treats you like family. the banana split is made with real ice cream not soft serve. had a large strawberry in the strawberry scoop. went back twice in 2 days and brought a friend the weekend after. This is now our ice cream go to place. Awesome milkshakes as well. Will make cakes to order. Great place!

Stopped in there on a Saturday afternoon. Michelle is the nicest person and made us feel at home. The Ice-cream was really good. It was so good to have good ice cream and great customer service which made you feel like Family ?
