The worst! Bad service. Food okay.
The Grill At 1951 hosts a monthly wine tasting dinner series, on the last Monday of each Month. September's event, showcased Andean Heights wines from Argentina accompanied by a six-course culinary journey. The menu featured a pear salad, lamb chop flank steak. Cornish hen, and pasta Bolognese ( Argentinian Style) and concluding with a chocolate caramel dessert. The wine and food complimented each other. My dining experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. 💯✨️Service was great. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable. Jazz music accompanied the event, which was organized by Matthew Nemec and featured cuisine was prepared by Chef Bobby Blanton. These wine dinner events are perfect for wine enthusiasts and foodies alike.🍷🍽😍 Check their FB page for more information. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy a memorable evening of great food, wine, and music. Food and service were amazing hubby had the surf and turf kabob and I had the short ribs, both delish.
The Four course dinner for 2, for $55 so worth it. So happy we came tonight!

Great variety menu. Started with pistaccio crusted goat cheese -- must have! Enjoyed excellently prepared salmon dish, and a falling off the bone tender pork osso bucco. Serving staff cordial and knowledgeable about the menu choices. And, delightful background of mellow live music. Electronic display screens surrounding the dining room added to the pleasant dining experience.

Wonderful find! Celebrated my birthday there with friends. Only had appetizers as the amount was quite plentiful! Service was outstanding, will definitely be going back. Can't wait to try the stuffed grouper and the veal tomahawk.

The bread service was outstanding with the roasted garlic. The shrimp and crab stuffed mushroom was mixed well with a great sized portion. The apple stuffed pork chop was decent sized, the potatoes had fresh garlic and the zucchini and squash were cooked perfectly. They had a deal on steaks so my husband got the wagyu sirloin. We haven't been in years and we were impressed.

We have dined at this restaurant several times in the past and have enjoyed the food and overall experience. Unfortunately, our last visit (for my birthday) was subpar at best. I requested a quiet table and was sat in the middle of the restaurant. We were not giving the menu with specials - we had to ask for it. The severer was not very professional and not at all attentive to our needs. It took 15 minutes for our drink order to be delivered, salads came before our appetizers, and we never received our desert. We overheard her telling another table that there were staffing issues that night but not us - therefore not managing our expectations. We never received a thank you for dining with us or an apology for the bad experience. In reference to the food, the salads were overdressed, the appetizer was cold, the vegetables overcooked my wife's risotto undercooked, and my fish dish was not prepared per the menu. On a positive note, the drinks when were great when we finally received them and the orchestra was excellent as well. I hope this experience was an anomaly - otherwise I see The Grill at 1951 having the fate of other restaurants in the are that have closed due to bad food and service.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Grill last week. This Port Charlotte gem is one of our favorites in the area. We took our time, ordering by course and were served a great meal by our attentive server, Marina. The appetizers were fantastic, perfectly prepared shrimp cocktail and lightly battered calamari that was incredibly tender. We both had the filet mignon and they were grilled to perfection. As always, the entertainment was outstanding! Whether you find yourself in Port Charlotte for a weekend, the winter, or reside here full time, The Grill should be at the top of your list for fine dining, outstanding cocktails and great entertainment.
