A week ago, we ordered a pizza for pickup from Luigi’s in Port Charlotte. We arrived early and thought we’d have a glass of wine in the bar to wait for it. The hostess stopped us as we headed to the bar and asked where we were going. We explained that we were going to have a drink while we waited, to which she aggressively and angrily stated, ‘You can’t do that!’. Thinking this was just another officious and power-mad hostess, we said that we were pretty sure we could and walked on to the bar to check for our pizza and see if there were a couple bar stools.After checking in at the bar, I went to the men’s room to wash my hands. On the way out, I encountered the hostess who called me a ‘Jackass’. I suggested that perhaps it was time to have this conversation with the owner. She haughtily and angrily replied ‘I AM the owner’. She asked us to leave, to which I was happy to do at that point. A restaurant’s culture flows downhill from the owners / operators, and this explains the consistent poor customer care at Luigi’s. There a lot of choices for us full-time residents of the Port Charlotte / Punta Gorda. Don’t waste your money at Luigi’s.

Our server went to pour our wine & literally sloshed it into our glasses spilling it on the table & didn’t return to wipe it up. One of our dishes was supposed to be in a cream sauce, it was dripping in oil without a drop of cream. When the cheeky young bus boy finished flirting with a gal at the next table he was clearing our table & he asked if we needed to-go boxes as neither of us ate even half of what was served. We said no as our meals were disappointing. He responded “yes it’s hot & miss here”!!! We won’t be back.

First time having dinner there and I'm kicking myself for not going sooner! It was so good! I have the Chicken Francese and my husband had the Sausage and Peppers. So so good! Wait staff and hostess were super nice and attentive! Just go!
Our server was was very nice and helpful. The food was good, mine was the shrimp scampi, it was on the sour side but maybe that's how it supposed to be? My dads grouper was over cooked and parts were black sadly, but the other 6 people were very pleased with their food!
My husband (a chef) always tells me good looking pictures does NOT mean the food taste great. Let's start with the ambiance...absolutley NONE. This place is very dark you can't even tell what your eating; so if there was anything unusual in your food you probably wouldn't notice. I'm sorry but this place smells like dirty mop. The food now. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo Pasta. It's saucy with absolutely NO TASTE. You can literally tase the heavy cream and butter no salt to even mask the blandness and the chicken is what really got me they didn't even cut up the chiken. It's a boiled chicken breast under the pasta no flavor as well. I travel for your work and I know there's a location in Naples but this blew it for me. If you love to eat disgusting food and just trying to survive this place is for you.

On 4/10/24 4 of us had dinner here. I especially ordered a meatball sub that was so substandard that I was upset. I refuse to dine here ever again, a total ripoff. Update, read the recent comments and you’ll notice how bad the food is. Don’t waste your money and go elsewhere.

This is on our go to list when we have guests and want a casual Italian restaurant. The place is always busy BUT they process very quick, so don't let first impressions deter you from the experience. Very good service and the food- belismo! The portions will astound you along with the quality of the dish. Don't worry about desert-you will have to take it to go!
