Taste of Europe Bistro

This is not German food .This is the first time I’ve been to a place where I didn’t feel comfortable. The owner/cook with white hair is staring at you while you eat.

We went for an early Birthday dinner , was not disappointed at all . The food was great big portions and made fresh to order , we enjoyed all the choices and brought the rest home . The owners were fabulous great people to chat with from Germany which I enjoyed as hearing the language I heard as a child . Will definitely go back again .

Food was good but I won't go back. They charge me $3.59 each for two plastic bottles of water. After $50.00 plus tip, I didn't appreciate it. They should tell you there was a charge for water. I would have got a drink instead.

I went for the Wednesday dinner special, Rouladen and it was awesome! I grew up eating this as my grandmother was German and made this dinner often so I'm comfortable sharing my opinion 😁. I'm looking forward to going back this weekend for Oktoberfest specials! Proist!

My husband and I had a fantastic dinner here for our date night! The atmosphere is so clean, cozy, comfortable and quaint. Our server was also the owner, Michael. He was so kind, attentive, funny and accommodating. We felt right at home. For our meals we chose the Schnitzel dinner and the Bratwurst dinner. Both were authentic and oh so good!! Of course I had to start with a Dunkel beer straight from the tap. Doesn’t get much better! We can’t wait to go back! If you haven’t tried this wonderful restaurant yet, do yourself a favor and stop in!

Twice my family and I have tried to dine here and twice we’ve been turned away. At 7 PM we showed up in person and we were told they were closed. The second time, we called at 7 PM and were told we could come tomorrow. I won’t go tomorrow, next year, or in this lifetime. If you close at 7 PM, then post your hours as such and stop wasting people’s time.

My husband and I love this place! The food is fantastic, we love the atmosphere, the staff and chef are wonderful people! Authentic German food!

We enjoyed everything. No suggestion on improving

We went there this past Friday with my mom for the first time. It was superb! My mom and I had the schnitzel with spatzle and my husband had the plate with the schnitzel and bratwurst. The schnitzel was very tender and cooked perfectly. My husband praised everything very highly especially the goulash. We took the Black Forest cake home and I wish I had the whole cake! It was light and delicious! The owner served us and he was very nice. He was pleasant to talk to and very attentive to us. Food was served piping hot. We are already making plans to go back! Thank you for a great experience!

If you want real authentic German food, then this is the place. Second time here. Today, I had rouladen. My first time I had sauerbraten. Being raised by a German mom, and frequently having these meals at home, these were exceptional and reminded me of my Mom's comfort meals.

This quite little hidden gem is a must try if you're in Port Charlotte! Sandra, the owner, is also the chef. Her daily homemade soups are amazing! I loved the fresh garlic on the escargot as well! They have an incredible wine 🍷 list that you have to see for yourself! I'll definitely be returning for lunch again and bringing more friends to this wonderful place. The service was excellent 👌 and the atmosphere is charming!♡
