Golden Corral Buffet & Grill

I'm writing this review just to add a tip for budget shoppers in the area who don't fix their own food for whatever reason. I'm in my mid-60s and disabled, so cooking is a problem for me. I don't actually go to eat in the restaurant itself; I order from DoorDash. When I'm trying to plan out my meals, I'm thinking about my budget and what I can get to microwave for the rest of the week that will leave me feeling full instead of hungry 3 hours later. Golden Corral fills the bill. Yes, if I could manage the shopping for food, the constant cooking every night, and dish washing that follows, it would probably be cheaper and healthier for me to get food from a grocery store. I take advantage of the opportunity Golden Corral gives me as someone with mobility issues. You can get 12 pieces of chicken from Golden Corral (at the time of this review) for less than you can at KFC or Popeyes, and it comes without the hideous level of salt you have to deal with from either place. KFC's pieces of chicken are tiny now, and unless you catch Popeyes on a good day, their pieces have gotten smaller as well. Popeyes is also obnoxious about sending spicy chicken if you order through their app, and they don't have any classic regular chicken cooked. I can't eat spicy chicken, so I've given up trying to get what I want from them. I honestly think both KFC and Popeyes have fallen in line behind Wendy's and are doing that thing where they charge you more for your food during peak meal hours. The fried chicken from Golden Corral is definitely bigger than KFC (at least every time I've ordered it is) and frequently bigger than Popeyes. I can also get green beans and cooked cabbage that aren't overburdened with salt or full of cajun spice. 12 pieces of Golden Corral fried chicken give me 6 meals of protein to eat, even if it is legs and thighs. I love Golden Corral's yeast rolls (they usually give you honey butter with them), and their 12-piece comes with 6 of those rolls. I usually make some Idahoan mashed potatoes when the cabbage runs out to eat with my green beans (I get the family size of green beans and cabbage from Golden Corral, so they last). Even if I wanted to get mashed potatoes from Golden Corral, they actually taste like real potatoes instead of the powdered potato flavor you get from KFC or Popeyes mashed potatoes. My favorite thing to get from Golden Corral is the banana pudding. They've always done a nice job preparing it to go. If you do decide to get a drink from Golden Corral, they have strawberry lemonade available (as of this writing), and it's the good kind with pulp in it, so it actually tastes like real lemon juice was involved. The best part about Golden Corral fried chicken is that it doesn't turn into a door stop when you microwave it the next day, like Popeye's typically does. I can't speak to the rest of the menu as I tend to get what I know I'll like, but if you're ordering fried chicken for dinner and you don't need breasts or wings, you might want to consider Golden Corral's 12-piece with 6 rolls offering for under $30. It will fill you up if you typically eat 2 pieces of chicken with a couple of sides and a roll for dinner. I'll try to remember to get pictures the next time I order.

What an experience CJ was the best she even helped my sons who hate vegetables to eat all her veggies will be back especially if we have her as a waitress

This was my best experience at this location, Our server was Cj, and she was incredible. towards the end of our meals, she noticed the abundance of lemons i had and she was absolutely the BEST about it. the energy and vibes were absolutely incredible with her. 10/10 customer service and was so kind. i hope nothing but the best for her! ( i really like lemons)

We were starving after being at the beach and stopped in on our way back home. It was decent I guess but on the expensive side if you ask me. Had 1 senior and 1 12 year old and it was 76$ for the 4 of us to eat buffet.

My wife kids and I went in their restaurant last night and ate. The customer service was great and we sat down to eat. My wife's sirloin tasted like fish and by the time we left all four of us were sick throwing up and back and forth into the bathroom. Not only the the mgr wouldn't give us a refund

Food? Actually very good. Me like! Fried things crispy, mashed things creamy, fresh meat very convincing! BUT $45 FOR 2 PEOPLE WITH SODA AT LUNCH?! Excuse me?? Did Gordon Ramsay bless the gravy? Is Beyoncé performing by chocolate fountain?? All-you-can-eat… and all-you-can-regret! I walk in Saturday, 1:15pm, minding my buffet business. Grab red tray. Grab clear cup. Just like I do since 2018. No prices posted. No warning. No “Hey Mai, we now charge like cruise ship with live lobster & champagne fountain” Then—BAM! At end of tray slide, lady say “That’ll be $45.” I say, “WHAT?? For lunch price??” She smile like it normal. - Mai’s inner voice scream: ABORT MISSION! 🚨 Also—if you just want water, they charge you for soda. Huh?!?!? I apologize, red return tray with yellow sorrow, and moonwalk out like disgraced ninja. Mai’s Tip: Only eat here on weekday, when price is human. Saturday lunch? Too rich for blood. Unless you bring tax refund... just keep driving past.

Waiter didn't ask about refills until almost done eating. Had a hair in banana pudding, showed a waitress said she would let our server know. He avoided us and nothing was ever said. No manager or anything. Very poor customer service.

Went there yesterday and the manager Jen was absolutely rude she belittled and berating two old ladies was were complaining about the temperature of the food, moments before my table and two others tables complained as well the food was all cold. Jen came to the older ladies saying she temp checked the food and nothing but the baked beans was cold I just sat down with a new plate to replace all the cold food and everything was still cold. The ladies stated that everything was still cold and Jen proceeded to nastily say I checked the temperature and the food isn’t cold idk what you want… the ladies said Jen was rude and wanted to speak to someone else and she said there was no one they ladies said they want the name of her boss and she said they won’t do anything for you they will just side with me and my temp checks. The ladies stated again she was being rude and Jen walked away yelling 35 years of experience baby. I was absolutely blown away how the “manager “ spoke to those ladies in front of a room full of people in that manner absolutely unprofessional! I then 5 mins later the Manager who was not “In” was standing in the kitchen I asked to speak with him he stated he was the GM of the location. I told him what all happen he stood there with a blank look on his face and said absolutely nothing for how the lady acted and ignored everyone complaint of cold food. The two older ladies had left and they hasent even eaten. I guess after all this time of this location being closed they can’t even manage to have a professional manager representing them. This was when they first opened as well so there should have not been any reason food was cold. Take it as it is don’t complain or JEN will yell at you. Do better people

First went loved it, gave great ratings, kept going 3 times a week since they opened! however! I went today Dec 31 and was super disappointed that I ended up paying $29.99 for two people which was great! But my husband just had mouth surgery and can’t eat anything but soft foods so he stayed home, I got one of those containers to gather him some food. I paid 22 dollars!!!!!! For a small container!!!! So I paid 50$ for 3 people because he was unable to come with us due to health issues!! Not only that you don’t just pay for the food, you also pay for the weight of the container!! Today was my last day of supporting Golden Corral of NPR!!

Seems like new owners or newly renovated place as I was reading from the reviews. Our experience for the first time ever going to this location was on point and food was fresh and so many options to choose from and very clean and organized it seemed like. Will be bringing back our entire family next time as only a few of us were able to go yesterday together. Keep it up and please keep your food fresh and clean as everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and time as it was pretty busy

Mediocre at best, over priced! Wanted to give it a shot but we will be a one and done! So gross!
