Same owner for 23 years and same staff for nearly as long. At least for the most part, not really but they have been for a long time. This place is great and always has been. Country fried steak is always on point and and the patty melt is always good as well. These last few reviews are a bit suspect. Not true at all. American Cafe is the best Cafe around and there long history should solidify that.

Used to be great a year ago. Different owners/staff. Service was non-existent. Got our own menus and water. Waited 20 minutes. Food was not good! Not cooked to order and bland. Waitress NEVER checked on us. Coffee was watered down, WAWA coffee is better. Place was empty on a Sunday, should have read the room. NEVER AGAIN. Will pass this info to the area. Shame.

Highly disappointed. I always try to support local businesses. Though the food was ok the price points here are disappointing. My daughter ordered a chocolate milk w/refill and they charged us 15$. That’s more than my whole meal!

It's a old time diner atmosphere. Good old home cooking. Very inviting and always friendly staff. We are repeat customers, and even our out of town family and friends ask to eat there again every time they come to visit.
Kid-friendliness: They are always super sweet to my now 7-year-old old daughter. She loves looking at all the old time stuff hanging on the walls. She ends up leaving with an extra special treat, too.

Bravo! I stumbled on to this jewel of a spot after noticing its location adjacent to a local Denny's. I definitely wasn't disappointed as staff/service is first rate, food quality is top shelf and portion size is excellent as well. There aren't many privately owned diners operating and when a superior one is found, that discovery is certainly worth crowing about.
