Burg'r Bar was our favorite every Sunday for breakfast with friends. Accent on the WAS. We actually did expect some change after the restaurant was sold -- even though there were many comments by staff and the previous owners that nothing major would be different. But the recent firing of long-time, experienced wait staff, deleting favorites from the menu, and hiring apparently very inexperienced kitchen and other help were not the "minor changes" one would expect to be made by those taking over a thriving, popular restaurant with a devoted clientele. The adage "don't fix it if it isn't broken" does not seem to have registered with the new regime. Very disappointing.
New ownership and they fired their entire staff by text. Had a bad meal and the new manager had a very poor response. Will not go back.
Good place for a burger.

Food has changed. Home fries too big not crispy. Poached eggs are hard boiled. New owners have changed quality.

I’ve been a solid regular especially for breakfast at this restaurant. Always had excellent food and service. Recently bought by new owners. Staff is miserable and service has tanked. I’m going elsewhere.
Just had an awesome meal at Burg’r Bar! The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly, and the onion rings were hot, crispy, and addictive. Service was quick, and the staff were super attentive and friendly. Highly recommend—can’t wait to go back! 🍔🧅👏
Went here for a burger and found so much more. The menu was filled with great options for everyone in our group. Loved the vibe, the service, the staff and the venue! Definitely the best place to eat in PG.
Terrible service. Twice we've tried this restaurant, and both times the service was non-existent. No welcome when we arrived, no "I'll be right with you", no acknowledgement that we were waiting to be seated. On our second attempt to dine here, when we were finally seated, a server never showed up to take our order (The restaurant was maybe 1/4 full - NOT busy at all). After we were seated, we waited for 10 minutes for some sort of attention from a server which never happened. She was too busy talking to another server about her date the previous night. After being ignored for so long, we decided to get up and go somewhere that appreciated our patronage. If you want to be ignored, this is the place for you.

If you haven’t hit Burg’r Bar in downtown Punta Gorda yet, you’re missing a made-to-order meat playground that lets you customize your bite like you’re building your own damn legend. This isn’t some lazy drive-thru burger joint—this is a build-it-bold, grill-it-fresh, stack-it-how-you-want-it experience. Bison, beef, chicken, veggie, pick your protein. Brioche, pretzel, lettuce wrap? Yes, chef. Over a dozen cheeses, sauces, and toppings later, you’ve got a burger with personality. Now let’s talk about that bison burger I had. Was it the best I’ve ever had? No. But it held its own. Juicy enough to impress, grilled well, and not drowned in sauce (thank god). The flavor was good, not great—but at $45 for two full meals with drinks, this place isn’t trying to rob you blind like half the waterfront spots nearby. The sides? Solid. Crispy, salty, satisfying. Nothing phoned in. And if you like your fries with a full liquor bar on the side, this place delivers. Friendly staff, relaxed vibe, no BS. This isn’t a five-star white-tablecloth affair—it’s comfort food done right, for people who want flavor, flexibility, and fair prices. Bottom line: It’s not fine dining. It’s fierce flavor, fast service, and full throttle fun. Burg’r Bar didn’t try to overcomplicate it—they just built a damn good burger bar. I’ll be back. #IronAndEmber #ForgedForTheBold #BurgRBarPuntaGorda #PuntaGordaEats #BisonBurgerHunt #FoodCriticUnfiltered #EatLocalDrinkLouder
One thing I ALWAYS look for in any restaurant is VALUE. This establishment has as many people hoisting their Martini Lunches at the bar as eating burgers at the tables. Service was good, burger was good, but this restaurant is getting the jump on inflation IN ADVANCE. Build your own burger into the stratosphere (pricewise). I never went in for exotic ingredients on a hamburger. I was in the wrong restaurant. Pardon me!
This was a nice place to eat! I enjoyed the blue cheese and bacon burger with ginger ale. Great dessert too!

This is our favorite place for burgers and beers. Also it's pumpkin season. Why not stop in for a fall beer. The pumpkin ale is delicious. We love the bacon blue burger and charlotte burger. We always sit at the bar and the service is exceptional.
