My partner and I absolutely love Ichi Hibachi. We make an effort to come at least once a month because it is the one place in Punta Gorda that you can consistently get good service, good food, with a nice atmosphere to accompany those features. The owners are very kind and hard working which shows in the quality of their food and the cleanliness of the restaurant. I order the steak yakisoba with the steak cooked Med rare, and it comes out perfectly each time! My partner is vegetarian, and she has never had any residue or signs of cross contamination with meats. It is incredible to even be able to say that since this is an issue we have often when ordering vegetarian dishes elsewhere in town. I would recommend this establishment to anyone coming to the area, and I appreciate the diversity in food options that Ichi Hibachi offers our town.

Absolutely terrible. This place delivered one of the wildest dining experiences I’ve had in years, and not in a good way.
We walked in with a party of six, hungry, happy, and ready to give this place way too much of our money. We were literally mid-order like, mouths open, words coming out, cards in hand when suddenly one of the staff members (I’m assuming the owner) behind the counter transformed into a mall cop with a whistle. Out of nowhere, she starts yelling across the restaurant:
“YOU CAN’T SIT BEFORE YOU ORDER!”
Ma’am… we were at the counter… ordering. The only thing we hadn’t done yet was build a shrine in her honor to prove our intention to purchase food. It was like being scolded by the world’s angriest hall monitor. My personal favorite part? She kept yelling while we stood there staring at her, stunned, mid-sentence in our order, like she was committed to the bit and couldn’t stop now.
By the time she was done, half our group was more confused than hungry. Honestly, I’ve been treated better by parking meters.
If you enjoy being shouted at for things you didn’t do, this place is basically Disney World. Otherwise, save your appetite, and your sanity, and go literally anywhere else.

Its not hibachi just a restaurant. You order at counter and pay before ypu get your food. The chicken was gross tasting the snowcrab rolls tasted like bad fish. Spring rolls are mush . Clear soup also not good. Shrimp has a weird smoke like flavor mixed with an old fish smel. Im beyond upset 100 and cant even eat. Rice is old and not really edible.

The food was melt-in-your-mouth DELICIOUS! 10/10, would definitely come again! We got the steak and chicken udon, the shrimp combo, and the salmon, yellowtail, and tuna sushi rolls. Though all delightful, the steak udon and salmon and yellowtail rolls were the standouts. The service was very quick as well. Plus, the music wasn’t too loud or too quiet, and the environment was very family friendly!

Woman owner is extremely RUDE! Made a nasty face when I asked her something on the menu. I had questions about the noodles, she raised her voice and slammed my receipt on the counter. I have been coming here for 8 years, but never again! Food is quite good but I will NEVER refer this place or return. Someone needs to remove her from the front counter. Customer service is horrible! You LOST a faithful customer!
