Monty's Restaurant & Pizzeria

It's been a long time since I went to Monty's. It's hard to find Italian food that accomfates my dietary needs. Today, my Mother and I went for lunch.

Mickey was my waitress and from my first impression. She was very attentive, asked how the food was and provided a family like customer service. She mastered great hospitality from the get go.

My mother ordered the stromboli and I ordered the salmon with angel hair pasta. Never in my life have I raved about how great that salmon was. It was cooked perfectly, came out hot Luke fresh food should come out. Pasta tasted superb and overall, we were both satisfied with all aspects of our visit.

I'll definitely come back and it's great to see this gem become a staple in Punta Gorda since 1983 (the year I was born)

Keep up the good work wait staff, management and cooks.

My favorite is the Monty's aspecial pizza w/feta cheese. Mmy wife's is the chicken parm. Great all around menu.

We encountered a very rude hostess/manager upon our visit. I normally would not write a review but when it is a manager who blames the guest and justifies her actions, I needed to share. Being in the hospitality industry, we were very offended and will not return to Monty’s Pizza.

Visited Monty’s in Punta Gorda on Saturday night and ordered the lasagna, expecting a hearty, classic Italian dish. What arrived was a huge letdown—nothing like the rich, layered lasagna I was hoping for. It looked and tasted underwhelming, and smothered with cheese !

We politely mentioned it to our waitress, and the manager came over to defend it, saying they’ve used the same recipe for 40 years. After four decades, maybe it’s time for a refresh? The restaurant has a loyal following for pizza and other items, but this lasagna didn’t hit the mark for us. I’ll never order lasagna there again that is 100% for sure.

First time dining at Monty's. The veal parmigiana and veal franacese were delicious. Homemade bread was warm and tasty with the seasoned olive oil. We were seated at the bar and the service was great. Will definitely be back!

Been a favorite spot of ours for what seems like forever. Chicken francese and pizza for dinner was delicious as usual! Can say if there's been a complaint in the past it was always taken care of and made right. Love supporting local family owned businesses!

We love the food here and most of the staff. We used to visit a lot. We always get a hard time about seating at the bar. Lots of reasons that make zero sense. I wrote my opion on Facebook and said I would be open to talking to the manager/owner. They did not respond. Next time we visited they refused to serve us because of a low level review. I guess we will not be back.

We have lived in PG for the past 3 years full time and yet yesterday was our first experience with Monty's.
Wow. We loved it.
We ordered carry out to give it a try and got 2 things we like to use as a barometer. We ordered the Monty Italian Hero and a standard Cheese Pizza.
The hero was wonderful. So full of great Italian deli meats, fresh lettuce, tomato and onion all on a house made fresh roll. Wonderful.
The Pizza checked ALL the boxes. The crust was tender yet strong. The sauce was next level. Flavor that transported me to days of growing up with homemade sauce with the family and the cheese, very generous and you could taste it was premium quality (Grande is great). Hands Down the best pizza we have had since we moved to Florida 7 years ago.
The young ladies at the door were so friendly and accommodating.
We look forward to coming to visit in person and try more of the great selections on the menu. If the Hero and Pizza are any indication, we found our new favorite place in town!!
