Went to Ortigia for the first time last night for a birthday party. There was 8 of us. We went to enjoy the outside seating, which was very nice. The food was good, but not exceptional. The filet was overcooked and the Baba Bind Shrimp had the tails on! Which would not have been issue if it was just shrimp, but it was covered with their sauce. So that it was difficult to eat. I will say our waiter was great, very responsive and friendly. I think the worst part was the music was so loud we literally could not hear each other talking. I love live music, but this was crazy loud. Not sure I would go back again.

Nate S was our waiter, he was remarkable! Very in tune to our needs and VERY pleasant!!
I normally don't do reviews unless it well exceeds my expectation and Nate S made that happen.
Thank you, we totally enjoyed the food atmosphere and especially Nate!!!!

We stopped in for a quick afternoon cocktail and were met by a friendly staff at this open-air restaurant. My Aperol spritz was refreshing and perfect. If my husband hadn't ordered the RUM old fashioned, this probably would be a 5 star review. Putting it politely, he wouldn't recommend that specific cocktail. 😆👎🏻
If you're looking for a great environment and super accommodating staff, this is your place.

This was our second visit here, and we had similar experiences as the first time.
Despite being a somewhat upscale eatery, the music is as loud as a biker bar. If you are looking to talk to the people you came with, this is not the place for you. The singer was so bad we could barely tell what he was singing, and when he moved on to butchering a new song. He somehow made everything from Gary Brooks to Neil Diamond sound exactly the same.
The waitress and her helpers were nice, and good at their jobs. The drinks were good, appetizers were decent, but the main courses were poorly cooked. I think they put my chicken on the grill, took a smoke break, came back to find it brutalized and slapped it on the plate anyhow.
The real standout here are the desserts. Everyone at the table got something different and raved about them all.

Not as good as we had hoped. Pretty pricey for mediocre food and drinks. We had to send back almost every entree. Everything tasted okay but not up to par for the price. But the desserts were all amazing! We ordered every dessert on the menu since we were still hungry from not enjoying the entrees.

First time, it was really nice. Prices are on the high side. But you do pay for what you get

Ortigiais a very nice place. Beer prices are a little high for my liking as they don't offer buckets of beer or pitchers. The $1.93 (I think heareave) special on a second beer makes it a bit better. I say a bit better because we were told it didn't apply to your 4th, 6th...... beer. Although our bill appeared to show that it did. Also, we were there on a Saturday afternoon and there was no entertainment like I'm used to from places like Dean's, Gatorz and others. They may be targeting a different demographic than me, which is fine of course.

Excellent experience and food. Great Ortigia wedge salad and eggplant parm. Will go back for sure. Wish they had more comfortable seating though.;)

I think a lot of these reviews are people expecting the Carmelo’s fine dining experience at a more casual sister restaurant. Snobs! I was with a party of 5 and we thought the food was excellent.
