Great dinner for a special occasion or just if you want a really amazing dinner. Selection of starters and salads as well as main courses. We ended up with the Chefs specials for starters and main course and was not disappointed. Drinks were perfectly made. Amanda, our server, was attentive and provided great service.
Over the top service and food from appetizers to dessert a fantastic experience we enjoyed the atmosphere and look forward to our next visit
Always great food at The Perfect Caper! Last night was very busy and we had to wait for our table, we had a 7PM reservation and waited 20 minutes to be seated. We all had a great time! Food was delicious!
On arrival on 4/25/25 at 2pm. the hostess stated that we should have called her from our cell phone on the way in to inform her that our party had changed from 4 to 3. It was obvious that it was not an issue since only two other tables were taken. The lunch menu was completely different and much abbreviated from what is on the website. We were looking forward to experiencing the Duck A Deux and Moroccan Spiced Lamb which neither were available on the lunch menu that day. The website should be updated. I was planning on coming back on Friday May 2nd with a group of people and we have changed our plans.
I ordered the grouper special and was disappointed . For $49.00 the portion was very small. There was more potatoes than grouper.
Was a wonderful evening celebrating my husband's birthday. The staff was so nice and attentive. As always, the food was delicious. The Perfect Caper is always... well, PERFECT!
As always great food, great service , 2 had steak 2 had scallops, 1 shared carrot cake. Also shared calamari. Jenney was server, just the right amount of attention. Busy night enjoyed by all 4 of us!
Without a doubt, the best place in Punta Gorda to have a meal. Always great service and the food is superb. Whether you visit for a holiday, a special occasion or just enjoy having a lunch or dinner away from home, you can never go wrong here.
Well...on Tuesday March 25, the Caper was anything but Perfect!
OK...yes the food was amazing, but I not sure I will ever return. As soon as we entered the restaurant and sat down the server advised us how busy they were and we best order right away because not only would the meals take some time coming out of the kitchen but the specials would surely be gone...this was at 6 pm.
Our party of four was seated at a booth designed for 2 average people. Had we been "big boned" people, it would never have worked.
We were in the worst location close to door and beside a table of 12 or more of the loudest, noisiest, rudest people I have ever sat close to in a restaurant. Our 90 minute stay was the most unsettling and upsetting experience I have had in a long time and to think we dropped just under $400 for this was dispicable.
During this painful time our server reminded us several times how busy it was as he clearly needed the table for another sitting. To add insult to injury, knowing how upset we were he dropped a creme brule on our table with 4 spoons....I guess as a peace offering (I noticed $5.50 deducted from our bill...high priced dessert clearly). This peace offering by the server was a complete insult and only added to my disgust and dismay.
I did speak with a lady who appeared in charge before leaving sharing much of what I have said here and that I probably would not ever be back. She offered an apology and showed me in her reservation book made a notation that we were unhappy with the noise...not sure for whose benefit the notation was made.
This restaurant markets itself as high end...certainly the cost of an evening there supports that notion and buyer beware...definitely not the quiet intimate dining experience I was looking for. Shame on you.

For a decorated chef owned restaurant it's sad that The best part of my meal was the aged rum and the crispy bread but it was the unfortunate truth. Even the butter that accompanied the great bread was your everyday restaurant butter. My dishes were disappointing, my shaved "something" salad came drenched in dressing, too much if you ask me and the roasted salmon with Asian noodles served in a bowl suspended over a noodle soup leaving me to figure how to eat it, fork, spoon, knife or any combination of two? None seemed right and none worked. The dish flavors too in my opinion, didn't quite match either and I think it's a miss, actually 2 dishes and 2 misses. A picture of Taylor Swift with the chef assured me that other people had much better meals by the chef. My companions were not impressed either but I'm not going to review their dishes. The house has some strict service rules which baffled my well traveled companions. Just a note, 2 weeks later we wanted to try this restaurant again but they were sold out.

We had dinner early as there was only an early reservation. The mozzarella salad was salty almost unbeatable and the duck entree should have had crispy skin and more favorable sauce. The sausage penne was delish and the crème brûlée was the best. Shawna the server was excellent. Expectations were higher than experience.

Food was decent but not worth the price tag in my opinion. The service was A1 our server Bobby was great. Atmosphere is nothing to be remembered.

We come here everytime we are down to visit my parents. Service is great. Food can be outstanding but the last few times we’ve come they completely have dropped the ball on requests such as “sauce on side.” Temps have been wrong. Annoying to pay $70+ for a steak and when sent back smothered in sauce, they simply scrap it off which unfortunately doesn’t do anything other than make the steak look like it has no sauce but still taste like it.

Had an existential crisis eating the delicious food here. Please send somebody to stop me from doing whatever I can to eat here for dinner every night until I die. Thank you. I love you.
