I grew up in the area but live in Europe now. Stayed here for a weekend last year to visit family - I LOVED this place! It's a large hotel but feels friendly and intimate, modern but with a ton of history and atmosphere. The rooms are attractive and spacious (+ bathrooms are enormous!). I had a huge terrace with a gorgeous water view. The grounds were lovely for relaxing strolls and downtown amenities (coffee, cafes, etc,) were a quick walk away (Safety Harbor is super cute)....read full review

I booked a package for my husband's birthday weekend. Went to check in they didnt have is booked for the package. They said our website is messing up, I said that's not my problem. they finally fixed it. We get to our room which was supposed to be a suite, it was an oversized room.....no suite. I guess they called it a suite because there was a couch in the room it was from the 1970s and was dirty. The staff in the restaurant were not really friendly at all. The staff at check-in were so pleasant and got us settled right away. The massages were AMAZING and we both had a great masseuse. We then dined on the front patio where Susan waited on us. She was so pleasant and fun, unlike a couple of the other wait staff we witnessed so we will be sure to ask for her again. We relaxed in the steam room and spent time outdoors in the pool and lounge area. A great day for my friend visiting from Santa Barbara, California. Thank-you.
