My husband said it would ad the best fried chicken he's had in a while. Collards are hard to perfect, they use a bit too much vinegar. Service was friendly.
So, have to reduce the rating from 5 star to 1 for one reason - the tipping policy. No reflection on the food.A tip is a VOLUNTARY compensation To Insure Promptness when earned. It is NOT a MANDATORY 'policy' To Improve Profits, especially when done in a surreptitious manner. We stopped by here yesterday to review the menu in preparation for lunch or dinner today BUT after seeing the recent reviews regarding their mandatory 20% tip policy which isn't readily apparent, have decided to take our business elsewhere. We always tip 20 - 25% unless the service or food is truly not acceptable so it's not the $$ per se but the policy. I refuse to be TOLD that I will be tipping 20% regardless of the food quality or service received. PeriodUntil the policy is recinded,, we will not be supporting the restaurant which is a lose / lose .Unfortunate, but warranted.Additional note - although we spent over 5 minutes on the deck reviewing a menu, no one spoke to or approached us to see if we wanted a table or had any questions. The place wasn't busy and a server did walk by to attend the sole occupied table near us without acknowledgement. Not an encouraging sign.

The fried chicken was impeccably seasoned, boasting a crispy exterior that yielded to a juicy, tender interior. Paired with velvety, creamy mashed potatoes, each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors. However, the portion size left much to be desired; receiving only one piece of chicken and a solitary side felt somewhat lacking, diminishing the overall satisfaction of the meal. Despite this drawback, the quality of the chicken and the richness of the mashed potatoes undoubtedly left a lasting impression.

When you go plan on it taking awhile… we got there at 8pm and was not served our food until after 9pm and then right before getting our food the server bluntly states that they are out of mashed potatoes which 3 out of the 5 of us ordered… as I’m trying to decide what my side will be (because there are only 5 I believe) he comes back and tells us they are out of the Mac and cheese as well… I don’t like grits so I get green beans and a fruit medley with my cat fish. Towards the end the server was being apologetic and they did take 50% off on our meal because of all the problems and waiting so long. I would be willing to try them again, but they are pretty specific on what food they serve. I would say it’s not very kid oriented either. Just a heads up.
