We had really high hopes about his restaurant from all the reviews on FB and being the owners of Southern Fresh. Very sad to say we were extremely disappointed. The positives are the server was attentive and friendly. The craft cocktails were some of the best in the Harbor. The bbq sauce and beans were the standouts when it came to the food. The negatives. The bbq was nothing special. We got the three meats so would sample it all. My bbq meats were better than theirs. The meats had no flavor at all and brisket was tough.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an atmosphere that perfectly blends Southern charm with modern edge. Shawna was a standout — not only was she attentive and welcoming, but her knowledge and passion for the menu made the entire experience feel elevated.
The BBQ was next level — rich, smoky, and perfectly balanced. You can tell the pitmasters here take serious pride in their craft. Every bite was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, from the brisket to the ribs.
What really surprised and impressed me, though, was the craft bartending experience. This isn’t your typical BBQ joint bar — these cocktails were elevated, inventive, and incredibly well-balanced. Each drink was a perfect complement to the bold BBQ flavors, and clearly made with fresh ingredients and serious skill.
United Smokehouse has set a new standard for BBQ and craft cocktails. If you’re looking for a place that does both exceptionally well — and service that makes you feel like family — this is it. Can’t wait to come back!

Definitely recommend this new spot in downtown Safety Harbor. We had the combo platter which included pulled pork, brisket, and St. Louis ribs with two sides (Mac and cheese & green beans). Very high quality food with warm customer service!

Tasteless. Barbecue from possibly last Tuesday. I was looking for something good, something to make the old tastebuds jump up and shout. Instead, I got something closer to a microwave dinner. The ribs and brisket were completely flavorless. The truffle Mac and cheese lacked truffle and seasoning. The Brussel sprouts tasted like a barely green wind. This was such a disappointment. Service at the bar was okay. Drinks tasted like drinks. When I only took a few hopeful bites and said I’d rather have it taken off my bill, I was told that the owner had to be called for such things. I wasn’t charged after the call was made, but what kind of restaurant needs that type of procedure when you have a unsatisfied customer? Weird.
Brandon is an expert in the Art of Craft Cocktails. You are doing yourself a great disservice if you do not have one of his creations while having incredible BBQ.

My husband and I went here for the first time. We came for the live music, and dinner. I ordered the brisket and brussel sprouts, it was delicious. Good size portions, and very nice and attentive service. The music was fun and lively! I highly recommend it.

WOW!!! I haven’t had bbq this good in a long time !!! The pulled pork melted in my mouth and the that Mac a Cheese was to die for !!!!! Oh and that damn desert the rice cake pudding with vanilla ice cream i thought i died and gone to heaven it was perfect 😍 I can’t wait to come back !!

We stopped in for dinner on the 4th of July and were really impressed! I ordered the 3 meat platter with truffle mac and cheese, charro beans, and brussels sprouts with bok choy - the portion was huge, more than enough for my wife and I to share. The meats were all cooked to perfection, each with its own distinct smoky flavor, and that truffle mac was out of this world. The live music added to the festive atmosphere and made the whole experience even better. United Smokehouse knows how to do BBQ right, and their sides aren't just afterthoughts - they're delicious. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Safety Harbor!
