We have visited this diner every time we're in St Pete for the last ten years and it's always been really great. The home fries are amazing! This time while we were eating, a man walked in with a large long haired German Shepard and sat by us. It was a beautiful morning and there were tables outside, but he chose to sit indoors so we assumed this may be a service animal. The staff brought water for the dog. It was difficult to eat my breakfast with the constant slurping just a few feet away from our table. Now, I was always told the public shouldn't interfere with a service animal but the waitresses were petting the dog (with hair flying all over) and feeding him pieces of ham, then they would go directly to the counter to pick up food to bring to customers without washing their hands first. That just doesn't feel clean. I couldn't wait to get out of there. It isn't the kind of experience we expect when going out to eat.This time at Central the dog was more important.

They seated us happily within an hour of closing! Treated us so kindly and everything was so good. I'm glad we decided to come in- an psychotic woman was screaming for us not to calling the place terrible names- she was absolutely wrong! Will be returning once I come back to Florida.

Went for a nice breakfast. The pancakes were so light and fluffy, and most of all, delicious. The grits were also very good. My only complaint is the tight seating . Other than that it was great. Cannot beat breakfast for 2 for $23!!
This place never fails to satisfy. It is wholesome and real, no frills or pretence, you want good food, coffee and engaging chat , especially with Billie (dreadlock girl)! Make it a priority. This is not a place to be a precious soya skinny bean latte type of snowflake, get in there get the food to satisfy …. It gets it done!

Nice diner experience. We had a great server and our food came out really quickly. I guess I looked shocked at how quickly, because the server looked at me, nodded toward the kitchen and said "He takes breakfast very seriously.". It shows, because everything was delicious. Great prices as well. Definitely check it out.
