Not my first visit, will be my last visit. The wait for our drinks was well over 20min. Then only one of two drinks came out. The Guac was acidic, as if the guac had been made two days ago. The salsa was tomato, sugar and water. The server was not aware of his table or sympathetic to the disarray of the situation. Do not recommend.

We ate at Red Mesa Cantina twice during our St. Petersburg visit, and I had shrimp tacos both times, because I enjoyed them so much the first time! The congri served with the tacos was delicious, too. The service was excellent, and we enjoyed dining on the patio. We'll return next time we visit St. Pete!

The waitress was a doll- loved St Pete and the restaurant, and really helped us customize the meal to our dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten free/friendly). The kitchen really works with you to satisfy your needs. The decor was interesting- seating was socially distant- everything was clean.

Waitress was sketchy from the start. It's all day happy hour and she charged us for top dollar alcohol. $13 for an entree and it doesn't come with rice or beans, we ordered beans and they never came out. Just a total disappointment. Way too many mexican restaurants that have better entrees, go find them it's not here.

I LOVE Mexican food and trying new locations when I travel. This was high on TA so we tried it! Waited for 10 minutes once we were finally seated at the bar. Bartender asked if we wanted our margaritas “handcrafted” which tacked on a $3.00 up charge? I guess the regular ones weren’t mixed? Chips were stale so we asked for a fresh batch...not much better, especially since they charged $4 at a Mexican restaurant?! Ordered chicken enchiladas which came with a green sauce and we prefer red, so bartender said no problem. Came out wrong! Sent it back, came out wrong again ( and everyone we spoke to spoke English). Got charged for 2 plates when we only ordered one? Oh well, we tried! This is my first POOR review on TA! Sorry Red Mesa ?

Red Mesa Cantina is one of our favorite lunch destinations. We like the menu, the food and the informality. It’s easy to find, there’s lots of outdoor seating and parking is also usually plentiful. The folks behind the counter are are there to help.

Friday, March 19th, 2021 @ 1 pm was the time this all happened. So, heading home from amazing week in Engelwood, Florida, and stopped here before heading to airport!!! New to restaurant and we realize everyone has different covid restrictions, but one of the 2 hostesses was just rude. We were told it would be 20 minutes for table...okay. We asked to use restroom whike we were waiting and the nicer of the 2 said sure. She took my husband and my temp, and directed us to restrooms. So...not knowing we couldn't wait at the bar and have a drink after the restroom, the HOSTESS tracked us down and said our names will be taken off the list. We're not able to contact you for table if your at bar!! WHAT....YOU HAVE OUR CELL PHONE NUMBER TO TEXT US WHEN TABLE READY!!! LIKE YOU DID FOR EVERYONE ELSE. Total disrespect. She than proceeds to tell my husband, "I will allow you to finish your beer!". After she walked away, the bartender told my husband it was fine he was there. Ugggg...didnt know what to say at this point. FINALLY..got a table after I questioned why people just walking up were getting served hefore us! Again snippy with me but at that point just no longer wanted to deal with her. Good parts...our server had just moved from New Orleans and it was her 2nd day at work. She should hostess...the other one should be talked to about respect. Food was great as prices... would we ever go back...only if the little skinny dark hair hostess was anywhere but there!

After going to the Dali Museum nearby, we were starving and wanted Mexican food. Happened to see Red Mesa Cantina and decided to give it a try. Found on street parking easily. The staff was cheerful and prompt. We were seated in the beautiful outside courtyard, where it was appropriately spaced for COVID safety. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. My picky 9 year old loved the steak tacos from the kids menu. My chicken enchiladas were top notch. Portion sizes were generous. I look forward to retuning here the next time we are in St Petersburg.

We found this hidden gem on our quest for the best fish tacos in Florida’s West coast. Not only did we find AMAZING food, chilled, hand crafted, savage margaritas but also the best service in town which was a pleasant surprise after visiting many other local joints that were a disappointment ( The Library)! Jessica welcomed us with a smile and such a positive enthusiasm that really made us feel welcomed and most importantly someone that takes pride in her job and loves what she does. She anticipated our needs, was very knowledgeable of the menu, went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our meal on every bite. She recommended the best kids park nearby for our son to enjoy and I am so grateful for that! He absolutely LOVED the park and now we have priceless memories and pics to look back on from our FL vacay. I hope management recognizes her skills and nature of her personality to fit so well in the food & beverage industry. We will be back!

We enjoyed lunch in the air conditioning. We had a chicken/rice bowl, chicken enchiladas, and a chicken quesadilla. Everything was delicious. My mom has a tomato allergy and they did a wonderful job working around it.

Lovely outdoor dining in a beautiful courtyard garden. Friendly staff and very good food. We had the spinach and goat cheese salad with steak, chicken burrito, and Cuban bread pudding. Everything was very tasty and well-prepared. You must like spice! Highly recommended.

This place has a great cool atmosphere and decoration! The strawberry margarita was excellent but the food was mediocre. Shrimp and tuna Tacos and tuna salad were all very salty. Yucca fries were tasteless. They really did their best to keep guests safe! Checked temperature and all waiters had their masks on! I would comeback for the drinks and vibe but not for the food.

Great friendly staff. Covid social distance and face mask in main dining (we ate outside patio dining for additional comfort). The duck tacos are sooo good and try the sweet potatoe chorizo taco. Loco mojito (i think) was pretty good too- had hints of coconut. I may not feel comfortable solo dining unless looking to socialize, but definitely worth visiting if looking for a bit of change from seafood.

This is a very cool vibe place in the very Hot Scene that Downtown St Pete has become. This was our second visit and we wish we had come more often as we live too far away in Englewood. We reserved an outside patio table (since we are still in the Pandemic) and it was delightful. Started with a Bowl of Tortilla Soup and 2 spoons, It was amazing. Loaded with delicious chicken and floating Avocados. The we both ordered the Seafood Mofungo which is a decadent mixture of shrimp calamari and scallops in a nice broth covering the Mofungo which is Carnitas niches with Yucca and Plantains. It is a little sweet due to the plantains so I mixed in a healthy dose of our salsa.. it was awesome. Next trip for date night may be coming back and trying the Carne Asada, looked good being served nearby table. Fun happening place in St Pete!
