This was such a great neighborhood restaurant which has now sold out. The new owner has brought some more of NYC with his new chef, just what we did not need. Prices increased and quality has been cut. When the established menu is doing well you do not need a chef you need a couple of decent cooks. Really too bad.

We didnt know it changed hands. Very disappointed. No bread, no salad, prices quite high. Won't be back. We were very sad but will travel to st pete Beach location!

Very, very disappointed. Do not be fooled by their TV advertisements, these are new owners and they have changed a lot. Everything is a la carte, and the prices are way way out of line for the quality of food they serve. No bread or salad with your dinner. We ordered bread for $5 it was this little loaf of plain bread that was a joke. Inquired about a dinner salad they wanted almost $6 for this huge salad that could have been divided up three ways to make a nice little dinner salad for the customers. My veal was awful, my partner questioned weather it was really veal. If it was really real, it was really low quality. Service stunk. Our waiter delivered our water without straws which we requested. We sat there and waited and waited, then she comes out and serves not one but two other tables before she brings us our straws, a little thing but that's ridiculous. I had to get up and go get them on my own. That is it for gigi's, I will never be back. Too many other really good Italian options in St Petersburg.

I ordered manicotti, sauce was very bitter. The portions are small. It tasted like canned sauce and for the price of each plate, you will not receive a salad or even a piece of bread. We felt overcharged for the little dining experience that we had, over $60 not including tip for two meals and had to pay extra to have any type of bread with our meal and two drinks. We will never visit again. The quality and amount of food for the price is imbalanced. There are a lot better choices to dine for the price, than this place. What a mistake this was, terrible.

The interior space is nice but not the food. We had the garlic bread and large garden salad to start. The bread isn't what I call bread. It was limp and mushy and the dipping sauce tastes like it came out of a can and heated up - no seasoning at all. The garden salad is large but more lettuce and less olives. I had the rigatoni salsiccia and my fiance had the shrimp and broccoli over angel hair pasta. Both were very bland. I could go on but I think you get the point.

Had dinner there tonight. Let me preface this by saying I used to eat at Gigi's original location in Pasadena back in the 70s, and so have a fondness for the brand and the restaurant based on nostalgia. We ate at this newer location on north 4th street this evening and have to say overall it was quite a disappointment. On the plus side, the tortellini carbonara was quite good, and the older gentleman who met and sat us was personable and even gave us a viewing recommendation. Unfortunately, pretty much everything else this evening was disappointing.1) We ordered drinks, my wife the Super Tuscan and I ordered Bugsy's bourbon. Danielle gave my wife a sample of the Super Tuscan, which was a nice touch. However, when her wine arrived, the glass was smeared all around the rim with lipstick, which she did not catch until Danielle had walked away. Dirty glasses are NOT a confidence builder in these COVID times! When Danielle did not reappear, my wife went to the bar and pointed out the lipstick to the bartender, who took the glass and poured another. Unfortunately, while this glass appeared clean, it was the end of a bottle and a short pour. When my wife pointed this out, the bartender simply said it was "close enough". Returning to the table, she took a sip and it was not the same wine, or at least did not have the same taste as the Super Tuscan. At this point, she decided to simply stick it out.2) My drink came much later, and unfortunately was not very good. It should have had a rich red and brown color and cherry and Grand Marnier taste, from the description, but it came out yellow. Lemon was noted in the ingredients, but seemed to be the main ingredient. I don't mind a bit of lemon, but did not order a lemon drink. It was bitter and lemony - not at all what one would assume from the description or expectation. I should have sent it back but decided to simply let it go.3) We ordered the antipasto, and asked about bread, only to find out they do not offer bread, except for a loaf of ciabatta-style bread for $5. We elected to take a pass, and noticed one or two tables which did order it seemed unimpressed (it was rather small). I have to say, if you are ordering a dinner at an Italian restaurant, some bread and butter or olive oil with the meal is really not too much to expect.4) When my wife's eggplant parmesan arrived, the angle hair was good if a bit dry of sauce, but the eggplant was very greasy. She should have sent it back. She asked for more red sauce, which was delivered but cold and watery. Giving up, we swapped meals and I ended up eating hers (my tortellini carbonara was very good, so she at least enjoyed that).5) Overall the service was impersonal at best. Apologies were perfunctory rather than authentic, and no offers were made to make us happier when we mentioned any disappointments. We clearly should have called over a manager to see if at least they would do the right thing after continued disappointments in food and drink. In short, the Gigi's I remember from my youth is no more, and we will have to let that memory go...along with taking our business to one of the other many more competent Italian and other restaurants we all have access to here in the Bay area. There are too many good choices to stick with a bad one, even in the spirit of nostalgia. Sigh.

not impressed. they deliver but not my house which is 3.4 miles away. Ok. I I ordered takeout and picked it up. I was a little late (42 min after I ordered according to my cell phone). I went in and they said it was not ready yet. Several other orders went out ahead of mine while I waited. self: "ok, something is not right". I ask politely, "no, everything is ok". 20 min later my food comes up. All the hot dishes are ICE COLD. they finally own up and say a delivery driver took our salads so they had to remake them. 75 min later I have fresh salads and cold pasta. $75 pretty well flushed. Their problem is now my problem? Sorry, I will never go back. This is a terrible experience. LESSON: things happen. I get it. But they could have made this RIGHT! Instead they just blew me off. It is somehow my fault. I will never be treated like this again. Be warned. Think twice before going to this place.

Came here for the first time on a date night. Food was really great, but the service was amazing! Tiffanie checked on us consistently and was super fast and friendly! She lights up the whole room with her personality!

So disappointed! I worked at Gigi’s south Pasadena location they had the best pizza, special cheese garlic bread! Moved to 4th street, apparently being bought out now the new owner is cutting corners ruining the business Virgil Newberne built!! So sad!! St.Pete Beach and Treasure Island ONLY LOCATION TO VISIT!!

First time tonight and mediocre at best. The chicken Alfredo was awful! None of our meals were as expected and will not be going back. Very disappointing.

The scallop appetizer was excellent. My husband said the lasagna was the best he’d ever had and I had a sampler and the stuffed shells were wonderful. Gigi’s is a nice friendly neighborhood rest. With a warm inviting atmosphere. But the food is the best!

Love supporting local, but unfortunately we will resort back to Uber. We Ordered 2 pizzas and a pasta were told one hour. After 2 hours I finally call only to find out they couldn’t figure out how to contact me to let me know they discontinued an item in my order. I would have appreciated delivering the rest of the order or looking at caller Id or anything to notify me. Zero attempts to contact me just left me and my kids waiting until WE reached back out. Manger told me they had 75 calls so couldn’t look back on caller Id to find me so clearly they aren’t missing local business anyhow.

Caprese salad, stuffed mushrooms, baked ziti, veal marsala with garlic mashed potatoes, complimented with dark sangria. Absolutely a wonderful restaurant. Well worth it. Simply a must for classic Italian cuisine lovers. Fell just short of 5 stars due to the lack of detailed attention to the baked ziti. Service was spot on. Almost nailed it!

Ate here 4 times since ownership changed hands last month and man, you can't tell they hired a great new chef.. The food is night and day better than before. The food was sub par until now. The new chefs marinara and meatballs are head and shoulders better than the old gigi's Had the Veal picatta tonight and while I wouldnt even think of ordering it before, I tried it again since they have new Chef and OMG I am glad I did, I cannot wait til the name change and new menu because this place is way better now! Hiring a chef is the best thing this place ever did! 100 Stars
