Can be a little expensive but definitely worth the treat once in awhile. The prime rib is my favorite! They closed the one that was by me by gulf mall but the St Pete location is great.
Sad ending to a long run. Used to be regular visitor over the years, previously not disappointed, generally. The place is Closing end of the month (Sept.2024), the restaurant's already given up early and has stopped trying...Lackluster farewell dinner. Three steak entrées, 2 glasses of wine, ~ $123.- incl. a modest 10% tip for lackluster service, and sub-par meat (2 ribeyes +1 prime rib) that tasted like defrosted freezer meat, the sides were bland. All in all, very disappointing last meal. No reason to go back. Save your $$ and don't bother going before they close.

Our server didn't want to be there. Very rude and extremely SLOW. She should have just stayed home instead of going to work. There's only a few days left to go before they close. I wish they would've shut it down a week earlier ! I'm 69 years old and have been eating there for a long time, sad it has to end on such a bad note
Been here many, many times before. Service has always been good. This time was absolutely awful. Connie our waitress was quite literally the rudest person I've ever had the displeasure of being served by. Not sure what her problem was but literally just breathing around her was an issue. Asked if they still had the sheets of the Napoleon for sale. After she said yes and I asked if I could purchase one all I get is a eye roll and a dramatic huff. She brought it out, put it on the ground next to my leg. Didn't even wait till I grabbed it to let go. A slab of frozen Napoleon fell on top of my already hurt leg. Every time asking for a refill of drink was a huge inconvenience. It was just overall a very bad experience. It was the last time I got to celebrate me and my daughter's birthday there and it sucks it was ruined by such a poor waitress. Dinner roll was completely dried out. They were clearly sitting out for a very long time. 20% gratuity was added to our check for 6 people. Normally I'd gladly pay that but she was not worth the $45 she got in tips for that night. Didn't even leave a pen for us to sign our checks with. Had to use my own. She tried to grab the checks plus my Pen. I told her no that's my pen she just snatches the checks and storms off. If you get her as your waitress definitely ask for a different table asap.
Too sad it's closing

Food was just ok, steaks were cooked to correct temps but really had no flavor. Employees are far from friendly. Hostess wouldn't smile no matter how hard I tried and server was just going through the motions. Expected a much better experience for this level of restaurant.
As always, dinner was thoroughly enjoyable. The service from our waiter, Sebastian, was excellent, the prime rib I ordered was medium rare as I requested, perfectly cooked. We ordered an onion rose as our appetizer and shared it among the four of us, then the salads and entrees arrived and were perfect, as always. It is so sad to know that Harold Seltzer's is closing. As he always does, he came around to greet his customers, giving the meal such a personal touch. He chatted briefly with his customers at every table. Though he says he is retiring at the end of this coming week, I hope he will bring the restaurant back after a break to rest and relax. He deserves to enjoy his retirement, and we all wish him well but hope he will reopen the restaurant eventually.
Extremely sorry to see the doors are permanently closing on 9/29, another Iconic Restaurant closing for good! ?

Harold Seltzer's and its predecessor Sam Seltzer's have been family favorites since our first trip to Tampa two decades ago. Great prime rib, steak, Caesar salad with freshly made croutons. Delicious sides and desserts. From their childhood to adulthood my family has always enjoyed our dinners here.
Restaurantji Recommends
Perhaps one of the last great American steakhouses, this restaurant — and the other locations that closed before it, Harold and Sam Seltzer's alike — is the best. It features wonderful but affordable prime rib dinners with amazing sides, housemade salad dressings, garlic rolls, croutons, and so much more. Hosted in a classic and cozy wooden decor environment, the exceptional service is only improved upon by the owner personally ensuring quality and regularly interacting with his guests. Congratulations, Mister Seltzer, and best wishes in retirement! I have been a customer since the 1990s, and your hospitality and food will be missed. Go visit while you can before 29 September 2024 when they close forever.

Sad they are closing. Happy for the owners retirement and wish him & his family the best!!
I wanted to like this place but I’ve ordered twice and they left items off my (take out) orders both times. I might give them one more shot at some point but it will be a
Long time.

The food was delicious, filet mignon was cooked as I asked and tender, flavorful. The sweet potato fries were fantastic ( do miss the sweet potato puffs) and the salad was terrific. I've never had a bad dinner there. The servicer was nice and speedy. The price might be a little high but it was worth it. I highly recommend Harold's steak house.
