Today was not my usual experience at Po Folks. While I've been here numerous times it was my first time on a Sunday afternoon. The service was slow and inaccurate with our order, the red beans and rice was not worth eating (so I didn't), biscuits were heavy, and the staff generally seemed uncaring and static functional. Overall, I didn't consider it a bad experience as much as an okay experience. I did expect better.

Best fried chicken. So many sides to choose from!
Get the cornbread! It's soooo good. Ask for honey or jelly, and they happily bring you some. The biscuits are really good too.

I’m from Texas and I remember going to PoFolks as a kid. They closed all the locations in Texas years ago. We were in town visiting a cousin of mine and we had to stop by for some food nostalgia. Our waitress, Melissa, was excellent….. very attentive. I had the pork chops and my mom had the catfish. They were both perfectly cooked. All of the sides were great as well. Thank for a good meal.
