Steak 'n Shake

First visit to a Steak and Shake. Good string fries, great onion rings and fantastic garlic burger. Prices are reasonable, comparable to other burger fast food joints. Restaurant was relatively clean and service was reasonably fast. Will come back for another visit.

Sorry I didn't take a photo of the meal. It was so good and delicious, I ate it lickety-split. The milkshake was also superb. Excellent location. Even though they were really busy, they made sure to take pride in their work and that everything was made to perfection. Fries are much better since switching to beef tallow. Dawn did an excellent job running the show.

Probably one of the worst fast food services I've ever experienced. The line was slow. The drive through operator was very short and cut us off twice during ordering (as in she turned off her mic). We waited at the window for at least 10 minutes. Got our order, rushed home to realize it was completely wrong. We drove back, and we're given our original order. Not the correct order, but the original order that was ice cold from the 40 minute round trip to home and back. We asked for a fresh order and we're told that they were too busy. By the time we got back home, our meal was an hour old, ice cold. We threw it in the trash. Our one cheat meal for the week. I guess the silver lining is that it forced us to eat healthy anyways.

The food was great I got it within 10 minutes of ordering. However, my Swiss cheese request was NOT on the burger instead it was cheddar which I am allergic to. I tried to get the attention of the manager but she was playing such loud music on her phone she didn’t hear me. I then went up to the counter to get ketchup for my dry burger & no one was there to assist me but was standing & giving me dirty looks.
Overall I’m just glad I got a regular sized milkshake when I paid for a kids one.
Steak n Shake please do something about this place.
I would like a refund.

Don’t go here if you’re actually hungry. Takes centuries to get an order employees stand around on their phone and while you wait 30 minutes for an order while no one else is even in the store.

Whoever the lady in the button down shirt that was working tonight (01/10, around 825p) was very unpleasant. (I’m pretty sure she was part of management)

I was redeeming my birthday shake and drove up to the window and she was already expecting payment. I told her I had a bday shake coupon and she goes “would’ve been nice if you told me earlier” and then gave me a dirty look.
I said I was sorry and she goes “yea yea” and then was rude throughout the entire interaction.

Way to rain down on someone’s birthday week. So unprofessional.

If you don’t like your job, do something about it.

Completely disgusted, the cleaning lady was very rude. As soon as we walked in, she started yelling about the floor being wet. If you don’t want people coming in to shop, then just close your business.

No ketchup. Liked Steak 'n Shake better when they were full service. Now you do everything except cook the food and they still ask for a tip. Seemed a little expensive for 2 kids and an adult. My grandson really likes their chilli.

The Whole staff of this location (EXCEPT FOR THE COOK) were rude, disrespectful and inconsiderate. TIME OF VISIT: 3:43pm 12/7/24- ordered a fresco melt plain with a small French fry.
I never write negative reviews, and rarely get upset over anything, but this was such a bad experience, even for “fast food”.
I waited 25 long and painful minutes before I walked out, and when I asked about my food after 15 minutes of standing there, they said “it’s coming up in a minute, we’re short-staffed.” Well the staff that is there- I watched three ladies with earpieces standing around, not doing anything but holding a hamburger bun in her hand for five minutes. Not once did they look at me and use ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE whatsoever during that last ten minutes.
This place is an Absolute waste of time and money. I left telling a lady waiting behind me to enjoy the cold fresco melt and fries. I am not gonna eat what they were preparing. The conditions were disgusting and after 25 minutes, I had enough. Do better and care about your job will ya?
