Don Jose Mexican Restaurant

Hoy fui estaba visitando unos familiares en Avon Park y me llevaron a Don José y me encantó el servicio y las fajitas de steak buenisimas, cuando pasé de nuevo volveré soy de Puerto Rico.

Sat outside on patio, the railing had maybe frog? fecies all over it. Told the manager he said no big deal we clean it everyday. Then found a hair in my salsa. He said it could have come from an outside source!?! Like really?? No thanks Don!

We stopped at Don Jose's for lunch today. It was delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly. The beans were fresh and delicious! I had the chicken encillada with green sauce and cheese! Carlos, our waiter was outstanding! Our hostess accommodated our wish to sit by the window overlooking the lake. The flan was perfect with a Carmel sauce! What a great dining experience!

Ordered chicken fajitas very plain no seasoning at all. Don't care for the view just wanted a good lunch. Maybe dont order the fajitas if you go.

If there’s water, I want to be by it and Don Jose has it. Besides the food being excellent and the servers being especially nice it made it a very enjoyable afternoon. We live in Port Charlotte, but so far this is the best Mexican food I have ever eaten in Florida.. We will be back.

Prompt and friendly service. I had the chicken taco salad that had a generous portion of seasoned, shredded chicken and flavorful toppings. My friend had the beef enchiladas that were perfectly seasoned with a mild red sauce. Great location on the lakefront.

Great place to eat but a lot of the time it's busy but I don't care it's well worth it the food is great the service is great and the owners are amazing people.

Great food and atmosphere!

I usually love Chili Rellnos but with the seeds in the poblanos they were too hot to eat.
They also have some strange rules regarding large groups. No more than 5 separate checks.

Maybe a bad day for the waitress, I guess we have those at times, but the skill of hiding personal mood must always be grown. The face of the company is the server. Won't be back. Enjoyed time with my Father and Step Mother for his 78th Birthday.

A/c temp inside 75-76.. complaint to server his comment it’s not really that bad! Food was actually colder than the temperature in the restaurant! Management never bother to come to table and at least show face..! Just bad!
