My husband and I stopped by for lunch while we were visiting Sebring FL for the GT races. We had a very lovely meal at Island View. Our server was amazing. She knew exactly what to recommend from the menu. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back when we visit that area again.
The location was really nice and family has enjoyed this location before. Our visit this time was subpar at best!!
- food came out tepid
- server was MIA for large chunks and even asking others was hit or miss (refills, spoon, napkin, extra plate, etc.)
The location was the only pleasant experience. I personally would not waste my time or money returning here.
Our first time here, there were 4 of us. Chicken Schnitzel, birdie & bogie and 2 orders of fish & chips. The food was great but the waitress forgot to put a “2” in front of the fish and chips so 3 of us were almost done eating before the 4th person even got their food. I would have thought she would have given him some sort of compensation…discount, a free draft beer or even dessert. They also had a band, which was a bit loud, but overall we enjoyed the evening.
We had reservations. Party of 7. Celebrating moms 92 birthday with friends & family from out of town.
Having previously celebrated her 90th birthday at Island View where the total experience was exceptional we booked again for her 92nd birthday.
VERY DISSAPPOINTED!!
Waitress was very friendly & apologetic.
Table was suppose to be decorated for the occasion, linens & napkins & some sort of decor. Previously they used 2 sets of 3 different size floating candles for our long tables. Birthday Cutout of age for display- very simple but elegant. They used decorations from catering. I explained that when I made reservations & they assured me no problem. To our disappointment it was less than. 1 small round fishbowl in the middle of our long tables was it. No effort to make it special! Had to wait over an hour for dinner, no bread baskets, nothing. Drinks ordered, long wait and took partial orders & had to call waitress back to ask about the rest of the party! Waitress was working multiple tables & couldnt keep up. Salmon was good. Fish & chips, good, one order well done. Birthday gal, wanted mashed potatoes cuz of denture problems. Was told cant do. I had to make a big deal to get them for her! Brothers fish dinner, only fish, no side. He also ordered a salad, no dressing, we asked, dressing finally came out when meals were done.. when desserts were ordered 2 orders of Cannoli served had nothing in them, empty! Everytime something was wrong, had a hard time getting waitress over to correct & had to wait for it to be corrected. Very bad experience for,a special occassion.
Waitress was friendly, offered to take group pictures cuz food was taking so long. Felt sorry for her, kitchen backup etc etc.
Friendly atmosphere. As we were leaving other tables were saying happy birthday to the birthday gal! One table stopped her and sang to her.
So nice.
Hope Island View corrects its problems, because we previously had a excellant experiece.
We had a table that gave us a nice view of the lake. The serve staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the dishes. I had swordfish. The food was good and for a nicer place the prices were on the lower side. The dress code was casual, shorts and t-shirt for the bar but not for dining. For dining nicer shirt and shorts work.
A slightly upscale 19th hole bar & grill. For golfers and walk-ins alike, the staff was extremely cordial and eager to provide great service. We can see why Mikaela got the opportunity to train a new teammate. The food was served quickly and decently prepared. The chicken and wild rice soup was delicious. Can't beat the view across the pond.
A friend and myself went there on Christmas day because we were looking for someplace to dine, and it didn't say that they were closed, So we assumed that they were open. We drove 20 minutes out of our way, only to find out that they were closed, as we were pulling up, there was another couple pulling up. They said exactly the same thing they assumed they were open because it didn't specifically say closed. I left several voice messages on many different venues. I never heard back from anyone. So about a week later, I called the restaurant, and I spoke with a nice manager by the name of Tim, who was going to as an apology, give us a certificate for a free appetizer Being as gas isn't cheap anymore, and we had gone out of our way due to the unprofessionalism of not posting that the restaurant was closed. Anyway, a couple weeks went by and I didn't have the certificate, so I called and he said, oh yes, yes, I'll make sure you get it. A month Went by and I never got it. So I called and left a voice message and a woman in charge of the restaurant called me back and questioned Why was I even getting a certificate? And I said, well, quite frankly being, as we drove out of our way and it ruined part of our Christmas, and it wasted our time and it wasted our gas. I said I think a gift certificate for an appetizer Isn't that big of a deal. She said she was going to get back with me And it's been a week, and she never bothered to call me back. If this is an example of how they take care of you before you even sit in the restaurant, I don't think I want to spend my hard earned money going there. I am disgusted with how I have been treated
Love restaurant on a golf course, overlooking a small pond.
We went at an odd time, were seated behind a pole so it started out not great as we had waited a very long time for our server to acknowledge us. Once she did find us, she was outstanding and the food was even better! The prices for everything were very reasonable to top it off. We had been looking for something to eat and found this place online and it ended up being absolutely amazing!
It was a Friday night and I ordered fish and chips. It was really disappointed that it was a frozen product and not a fresh fish. Other than that our server was banging right on.

Nice place with lake in the background.
Was guest for set menu ladies lunch. Pasta entree was cold, tasteless noodles and my bill was $31.00 with tea as beverage. NEVER AGAIN

Island View was recommended by a friend who works there, so we stopped for lunch. The atmosphere is very nice and of a country club vibe being on a golf course. With ample window area, there are nice views also. We each had a Reuben sandwich with onion rings that were tasty. I also had the French Onion Soup, which didn't have the usual dark brown color but was nonetheless good. Michayla, our server, was friendly and efficient.
On the walk back to our car, an unoccupied black Tesla with a temporary license plate started backing out of its spot and then came toward us. It drove around to the front door, where the owner was apparently demonstrating the Valet Mode.
We ate Thanksgiving dinner here in 2023 and it was very good so we decided to do it again this year. This year wasn't managed very well. They didn't have any white turkey meat available so I thought I would get some when I came back again to the buffet. In the meantime, the excellent waitress we had took my plate so I could start fresh, but when I got ba k to the buffet, there were no plates and many of us were standing around waiting for the staff to bring out plates and when that didn't happen, I asked a staff member to please bring out more plates and he did. Now I had a plate but no mashed potatoes. I'm glad that it went well in 2023, but after how poorly this Thanksgiving dinner was this year, I will make different plans for next year.
