When we arrived, we were seated right away. After about five minutes the hostess came back and took our drink orders. There was a table out on the porch next to us with a very loud woman. She got up to grab her waitress because they had not been attended by anybody either. My daughter and I waited longer than 15 minutes and we finally got up and left because nobody came to take our dinner order. I will probably not be back because I just don't have time for that kind of nonsense. It's too bad because I heard their food is really good. The service is terrible.

We went for the all you can eat catfish, BIG MISTAKE! Don’t waste your time or money. We’re from the Midwest and know what a whole catfish dinner should look like, not at this place. The whole catfish was only maybe 5 inches long, had we caught those ourselves we would have thrown them back so they could grow bigger. We are use to having a whole catfish about 10-12 inches long. They served us three to start and they were also cooked too long in oil that was definitely too old. The fish was dry and definitely not flaky at all. We had French fries for our side, they too were too brown, limp and soggy. You could probably wring out a handful of fries and get a tablespoon of oil. We also ordered the gator bites as an appetizer, and they were delivered to our table with the rest of our food, not beforehand like you should get. Our waitress never came back to check on us until it was time to get the bill. I can say I left without not feeling full whatsoever or satisfied. We won’t make that mistake again. It was a $61 meal that I could have gone to McDonalds and had a fish sandwich meal and paid much less for.DISAPPOINTING for sure!!

The Gator Shack is a great local restaurant and bar.
The food is awesome especially the steaks on Friday and Saturday night. They bring a cart to your table and you select your own and it is cooked to perfection for you.
Do not skip the Crispy Mac n cheese.

We went on a Saturday. It was very busy. The special was the state part and you get to pick the steak. We got a 12 ounce ribeye medium. It was delicious. Also got the steak tips, baked potato, and green beans and chicken tenders with french fries all delicious. We started with gator bites. They were the best I’ve ever had. This is definitely a neighborhood Restaurant Would go there regularly if we were closer, but it was an hour and 20 minute drive but worth it.

I don't get all the good reviews, maybe we just picked a bad night to go. We got there at 6pm and did not get our food until almost 7:30. We only stayed because of the reviews, hoping the food would be worth the long wait. Big mistake...I ordered a 10 oz ribeye, cooked medium. It was barely warm; afraid it was going to start mooing at me. My husband ordered the 22 oz medium as well, also way undercooked. Our server, who was not really engaged until it was time to pay(tip), said she would make sure to tell the manager. Stated he had already had to talk to the cooks. She should have spoken to the manager when she saw how raw the steaks were, not after we left. She saw we did not eat the steaks. Thinking back, first sign should have been being served a Sprite with a lemon seed floating in the bottom of the glass. Where did that come from?? Nevermind, I'm probably better off not knowing.
Also, you supposedly get to pick your steak on the weekends, which we were not offered to do. But we watched a server roll the steak cart to a table so they could make their choice, but she left the cart there for some reason and walked away. One lady at the table kept removing the trays and was poking the steaks. I don't think the health department would agree with the customers handling the food that way. I don't think the meat should be unrefrigerated either, seems like a lot of code violations to me.
If you want a steak, go to a real steakhouse. Don't pay $65.00 per raw steak, shitty service, and a bad case of food poisioning.
If you want to waste a few hours of your time, get food that has been manhandled by the patrons, and glasses that have not been washed then this is the place for you.

Okay, let me just start by sayin1g I am a very picky but simple person when it comes to eating I will literally go to any kind of restaurant and get chicken tenders. You can't get more simple than some good Ole fashioned chicken tenders. And like many other nights I was going to get my usual to go order if chicken tenders and fries, but, just as I was going to settle on it the patty melt caught my attention and I went with my gut on that and thank you baby Jesus I did that because when I say that patty melt was the absolute best I have ever had it was so dang good it made me want to slap my mammy and my pappy and my mammy been long departed f rom this earth for the last ten years like a fart in the wind. I had it medium well and it was juicer than the gossip at the hair salon at 8am on a sunny Monday morning. And greasier than my hair before weekly wash day. It absolutely did not disappoint at all I will be having that again.
