AMAZING!!!! consistent Mexican baked goods that come out fresh several times a day due to high demand. Lines out the door sometimes. My kids and husband have grown up on this place. The employees are do helpful and friendly ever time! And for those us who don't speak Spanish well, they speak English also and are very welcoming.

Have been going to la esperanza for DECADES and the prices have gone up like a dollar lol . It's seriously the best bang for your buck and the quality and freshness of the food is unreal. I always get chicharon by the pound and my family is always happy when I bring some home. Is it healthy ? No. Do I care? Also no! Treat yo self!

Amazing food! Great prices! Fast customer service. So much to choose from. Gave me a food coma. La Esperanza owns the whole shopping center. Smart business. One stop shop. I started at one location and worked my way through all the stores. Ended with the bakery for dessert. Best cupcake and bread pudding. I will definitely return on a regular basis. The carnitas by the pound and beans and rice by the pint are very affordable especially if your meal prepping.

La Esperanza has the "BEST" carnitas in the whole Sacramento area in my book. We have been going here for many years, they are our to go spot for family gathering because they not only have the best food but their party trays are amazing and they feed a lot of people and their prices are super affordable. They also have a bakery that sells fresh out the oven bake goods. You've got to try it.

Decent food for the cost. Long lines that start early. We usually get the menudo on the weekends. Very good and not full of hominy. You can't beat the price. They sell out early on the weekends. The tamales are a little smaller than they used to be, but still good. I wish they had street tacos, instead of the taco bell type with lettuce and cheese, but they are stuffed and good. The salsas are also tasty. Huge variety of bottled hot sauces and piñatas.

I ordered a bunch of food through grub hub because I wanted to try all they had to offer. Their chicken tacos are absolutely flavorless. The shredded chicken has no seasoning at all, not even salt. The asada taco is rubbery and chewy and has a very old flavor. The carnitas taco is sub par, especially if carnitas is one of their more popular items. The crispy potato tacos are decent, they have a lovely crisp, the sour cream and lettuce give them some freshness, but the potatoes on the inside have no flavor and are dry. The bean and cheese burrito was very good except for pockets of oil that was displeasing. I ordered a carnitas burrito as well, but I haven't tried it because everything was just meh. The up-sides to this place is that their red salsa is good and they are VERY cheap for good sized portions.

Without a doubt, La Esperanza is the best bang for your buck taco plate in Sacramento. They offer a variety of Mexican foods and drinks among the some of the best carnitas in the city. For roughly $8, you can get two loaded carnitas tacos, rice and beans. Make sure to come early if you're looking to try the taco plate as the carnitas meat option often sells out daily around 5/5:30PM. If you're unable to try the carnitas, make sure to pick up a dozen or half dozen tamales as they are flavorful and the masa is on point. Additionally, the staff at La Esperanza are typically pretty efficient and helpful despite sometimes having a language barrier. Make sure to try La Esperanza for some of the best carnitas tacos in Sacramento!

Everyone knows this is the best place in town to get party trays of solid Mexican food. The line is always our the door so you know the food is good. The service is great too. For a non-Spanish speaker, they make it really easy. They have an automated phone tree and you can call in your order in advance for pick up. You should definitely call in. They do get busy and sell out. And the attendants at the counter are all super nice and patient despite how busy and hectic they get.We always get the carnitas, chicharonnes, and the beans and rice are really good. The chicharon de carne is really good too if you get it hot and they don't throw in too many of the fatty pieces, but it is on the salty side so Yu need to cut it small when serving. Oh, and get the salsa verde. It's perfect heat, spicy but not too hot.

La Esperanza! You're by far the BEST place for readily cooked authentic Mexican food to go. My husband and I will literally stand outside in line for almost an hour just to buy some cooked meats. From your classic Carnitas, to Buches, to anything your heart desires minus Carne Asada...you can find it here.We always order about 2-3 lbs of chicarron de carne, 2 buches, and 1lb or carnitas. They also have well priced sides! You can order a stack of 50 handmade tortillas, a large and hefty portion of Mexican rice, and beans for a relatively good price! On a few occasions the Chicharron was a tad hard, but if you ask for the softer pieces they usually accommodate which is why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. We have recently discovered you can order your food over the phone! but answering the phone is at their discretion lol. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't, but when they do answer it's amazing because that line is unforgiving. As with any restaurant if there is a line out the door it means the food is bomb and La Esperanza! you by far take the cake lol.Parking isn't bad since the store is located in a shopping center. You can also buy from the Mexican store next door and there is also a bakery that sells delicious Mexican breads and desserts.Enjoy!
