We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Daytona beach for Jeep Beach!!! Fantastic!! We made a point to come back on our way home. The staff is wonderful. Thank you Miranda and Andy Macarages!!
Despite the fact that they advise as being open at 7 am they never have been! We have tried 3 different times to eat here only to find it closed.Have stopped trying to eat here, ended up in Ocala every time.
My wife, Lisa, and I were traveling home from a weekend up in Melrose Florida with our friends that live there. We tried to stop at Tabby's Restaurant for lunch. Everyone inside looked mad. Come to find out, they had a large party come in and the people next to us had been waiting almost an hour and a half for their food. I'd be upset too. Anyways, they asked if we were in a hurry. We were. They suggested going up the road to Pops Country Kitchen. They said you will have better food and service. They were right! The food was outstanding and the service was great too. Highly recommend Pops! You won't be disappointed.
Finally stopped in for breakfast this morning, it was amazing. Wish I would have stopped sooner my husband and I are still filled up from our breakfast specials. And now we are excited to explore the menu of this hidden gem in the forest.
We both got the fissure sandwich basket included fries and coleslaw. It was all really yummy. Then I ordered hushpuppies and they were a little too dense for me and they're served with powdered sugar on top. I like big fluffy ones with chopped onion in it. But the people were super friendly!
Typical for a small country restaurant. Food is excellent. Best greens I have ever had. The "Reds" (shrimp) can't be beat. Chili was very good. Service great. Owner Pops is very friendly and accommodating. I need to add a negative note. There was a gentleman at the table next to us. He was soon joined by another man. The new guy had a very loud and very foul mouth. He literally had NO filters. The F word was common. He apparently was recently separated and constantly berated women, talked about having to satisfy himself and used all the explicit terms related. It was indicated that he worked there. The waitress was at his table the entire time and said nothing to him. WE WILL NOT GO BACK.
What a refreshing meal that was absolutely delicious and equally important supporting a local small business. Good southern food head out and have bite! For the foodies out there they use grass fed beef too!
We stopped for breakfast and love that they have shaded outdoor tables so our dogs could join us. Food was good, nice portions and the staff was super friendly and attentive. We’ll go again.
Great local place. Breakfast was over but they made us breakfast anyway. Will definitely recommend
Since moving to TN from Texas 5 years ago we have struggled to find good chicken fried steak and especially the white gravy. Pop’s does both to perfection. Cornbread is moist and tasty and slightly sweet (most places have dry, stale cornbread). Looking forward to trying all of the other things on the menu.

This was the 2ND hamburger and fries I've had. This one was as tasty as the first. Portions are good size. We had leftovers to put in the air fryer for later. Great service. Awesome employeesI really enjoyed it. Looking forward to trying new things. More to come...

Not to pricey. Had a party of 11 & they were not prepared for that. However they definitely delivered. Poliet and quick staff good food.
Owner was very friendly and had a nice conversation with my friend and I. Food was good. Would like to come back and try the country boil.
