Our experience at Avilés as above and beyond. The atmosphere was nice, quiet, and moody (especially when thinking it's in a hotel lobby). There was fabulous entertainment by a singer guitarist at the perfect volume to enjoy and still have conversation. We were celebrating my birthday and Mike was super attentive, made wonderful suggestions and went above and beyond to make our time super special. We enjoyed the Tomahawk steak cooked to absolute perfection! The sea scallop appetizer, chefs kiss! Then the fresh catch two (nippon and bayou). One of the best dining experiences during our visit to St. Augustine.
Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was top notch. Even had happy hour.
Tried the Spinalis steak and found out that it is the end cap of a ribeye. I was amazed at how good that steak was and will definitely be back!
Dined at Avilés Restaurant, located within the Hilton in St. Augustine’s historic district, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. If you’re seeking outstanding service and unforgettable flavors, this is the place. The meal exceeded all expectations—each dish was deliciously crafted. A special shoutout to our server and bartender/mixologist, Michael, who went above and beyond with impeccable service, expertly made drinks, and a warm, welcoming attitude. Absolutely top-notch in every way!
Outstanding service (best we've had in a quite q while) and excellent food. All this with live music and perfect ambiance. Given all the great choices in the area, this one is truly a hidden gem.
My wife and I enjoy our visitors to Avilés. Whether it’s for breakfast seeing Justina or Ana OR enjoying a nice dinner with Sheraz and Michael we know the food and service will be top notch! Thank you Avilés for always putting a smile on our faces!
A delicious meal. Started with scallops and had a wonderful steak that was the best ever had! Great service, quiet, great location with all shops nearby.
We went there for dinner , there was nobody at the restaurant- all empty . Food was good And the server Brandon added so much extra tip on our card. He tipped himself 32 dollars from our bill which we never authorized.
Fantastic. Everyone was pleasant and attentive, the live music was on point and the food was great. We plan to be back!
Pasta night is on Thursday and we enjoy the Special prices on the Thursday menu. We also took advantage of Happy Hour 2 for one drinks! Everyone was great, fast service and good food. We will look forward to coming back!

Thursday night was amazing, my wife's pasta was perfect and the steak..omg so goog. The staff was so kind and the music was wonderful. Perfect place for a nice intimate dinner.
Sat down 10 minutes before our reservation then was told we could order for at 25-30 minutes due to kitchen being backed up despite being multiple open tables due to being a scratch kitchen. Had to ask for bread after not being offered anything. Went to order and they were out of filet Mignon which three people wanted. Food find came out and was under seasoned and server rarely checked back and had to ask other workers questions.
When we arrived for our reservation we were told that OpenTable reservations were all blocked and they had no tables for us. They then tried to seat us in a separate unadorned room at two small high top tables. When we refused, they said they could offer us a suitable table in 20 minutes. We waited and then were seated. The seats on one side were much lower than those on the other. So they seated us at a better balanced table. The food was good though mine was a little overdone. When the bills came they did not add up correctly since the entrees were only partially included and we had to insist on corrections. Odd place.
We ate entrees separately, and mine came up at the same time as my main meal. Getting attention for a drink from the many staff was hard as only one seemed to be working that night. Others just stood and gossiped
