This is a gem on a1a near Butler Beach. Excellent service and the food has variety and made as you order. The staff is friendly and helpful. Summer was our server and was so friendly and helpful with the menu. This is a fine group of people and such a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Back 40 is a little hole in the wall that my family go to for lunch almost everyday and it’s amazing! Great food and amazing variety, from tacos and quesadillas to burgers and wraps it’s all done amazing and so consistent. The service is very nice and inviting. It’s clean and has beautifully decorated walls with many paintings I would totally recommend👍

So, just moved to Palm Coast and was exploring surrounding areas with my wife when lunch time hit. Happened to come across The Back 40 on A1A. It's located in sort of a strip mall with several outdoor tables. We decided to dine inside. We were greeted by Logan. Now I have read about slow service etc in previous reviews, but what ever. Logan was obviously the only waitress on duty. She didn't rush over to take our order right away, but drinks came quickly. I have to remind myself to take my time. There shouldn't be a rush on a relaxing afternoon lunch, what's the point of that? Also Logan was engaging in friendly conversation with other patrons, all smiling enjoying their afternoon lunch. Cool scene. Logan took our order and then the food came. Out standing! Best burger I've had in FL so far. My wife had the chicken tacos. Also knocked it out of the park. I tried a bit of hers and wow. Their cook is a rock star!
So, if you find yourself in a rush for lunch, don't go here. If you want a chill place near the beach to get really great food and relax and enjoy a great conversation with a really cool waitress like Logan, The Back 40 will exceed your expectations. Thanks for super service Logan!
It's our new favorite spot and we live 30 minutes away. Nuff said.

Gumbo and Cubans are my go to. Mango cart on draft or a nice glass of red for me. Always a smile and fun conversations with the crew. My favorite stop off for a no stress relax repeat kind of day

The food was delicious! I had a shrimp taco and a mahi taco. Both were fantastic. Also the salsa was so good. I'm definitely visiting this restaurant again while I'm here this week. Excellent service as well!!

Summer is a very good server. Friendly and attentive, she makes you feel welcome and can give great local recommendations. Food selection is ample, and daily specials are worth checking out. We are becoming regulars. Ask about their cheesecake!

The curry chicken wrap was delicious. The burrito is huge enough for two people. The food is unique and very tasty.

Had the special blue and bacon burger- best candied bacon EVER. Thank you chef! Hans the barkeep was low key and informative. Tried a Mango Cart wheat beer from Golden Road. Delicious! Hans said they sell it at Publix, went over there promptly and got a 12 pack and trying the guava as well. So unusual! Thank you Hans. ?

My personal favorite dish on this island is the drunken burrito with mahi, over has a nice feeling to it as well.

Stopped in for lunch to take a break from the heat at Crescent Beach. Enjoyed the Cuban sandwich followed by the mud pie desert - fantastic. Summer was an excellent server.
