Blackfly The Restaurant Reviews
We had no prior knowledge of Blackfly. We chose it because it was close to our rental. We smiled as soon as we walked in the side door leading to the bar area and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. The further we entered the very well decorated restaurant the more we knew we had made a good choice. To us, the best reason to visit St. Augustine is dining at the Blackfly! We went all out and had drinks, appetizers, their version of Coquille St. Jacques and their Chilli lime shrimp. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection with exceptional sauces. Main course was a Chef's Special which was baked shrimps, scallops over a bed of thai noodles and a sauce to die for. I had the bone in Pork chop cooked medium rare and it was delicious. Blackfly has a vast selection of wines in their wine cellar and we enjoyed a nice Honig sauvignon blanc. Kudos to Matt, our server, who throughout the evening gave us the right amount of attention and space to relax for our entire dining experience. The food was so good and well prepared that I was compelled to go to the kitchen to thank the staff and gave a large tip for the kitchen staff . Our evening at Blackfly was the highlight of our trip. Thank you Vaughn and staff, you have an outstanding establishment.

Blackfly The Restaurant offers a variety of delicious dishes like salmon, surf and turf, brick oven pizza, and Surf & Turf Fried Rice. It is especially known for the Wellington Beef Tips and Scallops appetizer, which are popular choices among diners. The food is consistently cooked perfectly, featuring tender beef and flavorful dishes. Highlights from the menu include lime shrimp, conch fritters, and blue crab tortellini, which have been praised as some of the best in St. Augustine. The Creme Brule and key lime pie are must-tries for dessert. The chef excels at seasoning the food, and the house wine and cocktails receive excellent reviews. The service is friendly, with attentive staff who enhance the dining experience. Guests have noted the excellent service and the inviting vibe and decor, which is bright and artsy. Although some dishes may have inconsistencies in temperature, such as the undercooked snapper that was corrected, Blackfly remains a go-to spot for enjoyable meals. This restaurant promises delightful food and efficient service, making it a great choice for dining out.
