Food-Lime shrimp, conch fritters, blue crab tortellini-best in St. Augustine. Black Fly is our go to restaurant if you don't want to take a chance on a good meal. We never have a doubt.
I don't want to disparage this restaurant publicly, but as indicated in my private note to the restaurant, I was less than happy with the meal I had there last night. This was in contrast to previous times I've dined there, when I enjoyed the food much more.
Friendly staff and a fantastic selection of creative dishes. The chef certainly knows how to properly season food. They happily let me substitute a protein in a daily special and provided just the right amount of attentive service.
First time dining before another event a block away and did not disappoint. Skylar our server was responsive and charming. The food was sensational and though I felt the Tuna was a bit pricey my friend who ordered and ate it said he would be $40 for it all day. Can't wait to return!
Dave was a great waiter. Only downside was the snapper came out undercooked and had to be sent back. It was then corrected and the rest of the meal was very good.
We had an excellent meal and Service last night at the Black Fly. My husband loved his Ahi Tuns and Lobster tail. He said it was wonderful. I had the fried shrimp and it was delicious! Lobster egg rolls were delightful!
We had no prior knowledge of Blackfly. We chose it because it was close to our rental. We smiled as soon as we walked in the side door leading to the bar area and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. The further we entered the very well decorated restaurant the more we knew we had made a good choice. To us, the best reason to visit St. Augustine is dining at the Blackfly! We went all out and had drinks, appetizers, their version of Coquille St. Jacques and their Chilli lime shrimp. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection with exceptional sauces. Main course was a Chef's Special which was baked shrimps, scallops over a bed of thai noodles and a sauce to die for. I had the bone in Pork chop cooked medium rare and it was delicious. Blackfly has a vast selection of wines in their wine cellar and we enjoyed a nice Honig sauvignon blanc. Kudos to Matt, our server, who throughout the evening gave us the right amount of attention and space to relax for our entire dining experience. The food was so good and well prepared that I was compelled to go to the kitchen to thank the staff and gave a large tip for the kitchen staff . Our evening at Blackfly was the highlight of our trip. Thank you Vaughn and staff, you have an outstanding establishment.

Good food but limited menu and a bit pricey. Look at the menu before going because there aren’t a ton of choices. I’m sure they do the menu well, just wish there was a bit more variety on the menu.
Like they have pizza but not a single sandwich? But the pizza was good and I had enough for lunch the next day.

I can’t speak highly enough of the team (and the food) at Blackfly. We had to pivot the location of our wedding weekend welcome party due to weather, and Nick (owner) and Megan (events coordinator) were both so kind, wonderful, and accommodating of last-minute plans. Our group had an amazing time in the restaurant’s private event space. The staff was wonderful, the food was delicious, and everyone had an amazing time. Thank you to Blackfly for saving our wedding weekend!

Great food and environment. Had the daily fish special, well prepared, everything we had was tasty, and the staff very attentive. The owner visited with us checking how everything was and had a great chat. We'll be back! On our favorites list now.

One of the best restaurant I’ve been in St. Augustine. This place was recommended by my in-laws since they mentioned this place has great seafood dishes and indeed they are correct. Inside looks decorative with fly fishing decorations and different kind of fish display which helped kept my son distracted.
We scheduled a reservation since we heard this place will be busy on Friday night. Service was great, our server was descriptive and polite.
For drink, got to tried their Silver Eclipse, from the drink special menu, which was tequila with raspberry liqueur and blackberry purée. For food, we started with the Bahamian conch soup followed with the Brazilian Moqueca. The conch soup was tasty and fresh and the Brazilian Moqueca was one of the best coconut fish dish I’ve ever tried.
Overall, this was an amazing restaurant to go for dinner around Anastasia island and will definitely come back to try their other dishes also.
