Absolutely exquisite tacos for every occasion and setting. I tried these tacos on random Sunday and was truly delighted. TRY THESE TACOS AT ALL COSTS!

I went with family for a quick bite to eat. We had a little bit of everything... Fireproof, Texas hold'em, On your face tacos, chips and queso, street corn, coffee, Mexican coke, churro bar, and aqua frescas. We all enjoyed the food and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The prices were reasonable and place is clean and inviting. We will definitely be back.

Two guys at the counter whom were both super friendly and helpful. We ordered a barbacoa taco, two monthly special tacos, a breakfast taco and a refried bean salad. We liked the salsa bar and that I can have a flavorful, actually kinda spicy salsa(the hot one). Refried beans were yummy, not hot but yummy(maybe they are purposefully served cool ). When the guy from the counter brought our order, he gave us a free order of chips and queso. The chips were fresh and crispy and the queso has a nice smoked flavor, which we enjoyed, a little spice to it but not hot. Overall, great experience and happy they are close to home. We look forward to trying more.

Robin was the sweetest and helped us decide for our first time! Loved how sweet and good her energy was. Everyone at checkout was also so kind and seemed super happy to be here. Great energy, great mimosas!!!! (Only needed one) they had such great food my favorite was scrambled eggs on your face!! Robin was so sweet to give us queso and chips on the house, stuff like this brings us back! We tried atleast one of every breakfast taco too& the queso was amazing. Thank you all again for helping us on 2/6/25

The tacos are amazing. The homemade tortillas are amazing. The sauces are amazing. The drinks are amazing. The service is impeccable! Thanks Robin for providing such a helpful and welcoming experience for our first visit, we will be back!

My work got some freebies Tuesday, I’m here Saturday with the wife. Absolutely love everything. Fresh tortillas for my breakfast tacos? He’ll yes! Get the queso and the hot sauce. The folks are wicked friendly and the hot honey badger is delicious. Gold star all around. Sat outside and enjoyed watching the traffic. No crashes :-(

All around great experience! The staff was incredibly welcoming, taking the time to explain the menu in detail, including where their ingredients come from. We had the Area 51, Texas Hold’em and M.T.D tacos which were awesome! We also had their Watermelon Fresca which was super refreshing. If you're looking for a unique breakfast experience with great service, this spot is worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back!

I visited for breakfast; it was GREAT! The service was friendly and fast, and the food was terrific. I ordered three tacos: scrambled eggs on your face, gravy crockett, and texas hold'em. All three were freshly and well prepared, and I enjoyed everything I ate. And, the scrambled eggs on your face actually ended on my face! It all had heat, but not too much! Great texture, and great flavor! The chips were great; I will definitely be back! Oh, and definitely try a churro bar!

Had a fantastic breakfast at Calico Cactus A NEW Modern Taco Shop, at 833 S. Ponce de Leon Blvd. in St. Augustine

The brekkie tacos were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made with their scratch-made tortillas. The chai latte and coffee from their full barista-staffed coffee bar were just as amazing—smooth, rich, and the perfect start to the day. The staff was super friendly, and the service was impressively quick, even during the morning rush.

A huge shout out to Colin, Celia and Amanda for taking such good care of us.

The salsa station was a fun touch, letting us customize the heat to our taste. The cozy, modern vibe of the restaurant made the whole experience even better. If you’re in St. Augustine, this spot is a must-try for delicious tacos and great service!

What a sweet spot for breakfast tacos, or lunch, but I got the “scrambled eggs on your face” taco and the Texas Hold’em. Didn’t bring my phone so no pic, sorry. But the egg taco with the queso and the crispy hash brown potatoes with bacon was savory and delicious. Oh, and grab a side sauce of cilantro lime and kick it up! The Hold’em is their braised brisket with eggs and Monterey Jack, melt in your mouth perfection. Super friendly staff might greet you and walk you through things if it’s your first time, but I highly recommend!

The menu offered delicious unexpected surprises. Unusual but intriguing combinations like the option for feta and watermelon on the guacamole dip. Or the natural, fresh watermelon juice refreshing drink! Healthy, wholesome. I will be back to experience some new twists on traditional foods! Have I mentioned the amazing, best queso I’ve ever had?? Way to go Calico Cactus for keeping it interesting and delicious.

Being from CA, we were eagerly anticipating the opening of Calico Cactus and we were not disappointed! St Augustine FINALLY has the authentic Mexican flavors near and dear to our hearts that we've so missed since moving here. I had the Gravy Crockett and the Area 51, and my husband had the Area 51, Pick Me Up, and the Texas Hold'em. We also ordered some hot, fresh tortillas and queso, a Cortado and fresh squeezed orange juice (SO GOOD!). RUN - Don't walk here! Everything was DELICIOUS! The fresh scratch made salsas were on point. The cilantro lime sauce was bright and the Hot Mess sauce - with jalepeño and pickled onion - was a tasty addition to add complexity to the Gravy Crockett.

Service was also great. In the short time we were here, we had multiple employees check to make sure we had everything we needed, the barista came over and personally apologized for the wait time on the Cortado, and Alex was very pleasant and congenial and enjoyable to chat with. We will definitely make this a standard.
