Cantina Louie (St. Augustine, FL)

I have eaten here more than once. The first 2 times were amazing. Food was delicious and just right. This time we went it was not delicious. I get the fajitas nachos with extra queso...it comes out and I couldn't even tell if there was queso cause it was so watery. They use these tiny plates so you are trying not to spill everything. Just wasn't what it used to be. The time before this last time was about the same. Food just wasn't it. We won't be returning here.

Parking: Little parking lot. It's on the corner of 2 busy roads and the entrance is small.

Food was great, but this place used to have some of the best margaritas in town. The last few times I've been here, they've been lackluster.

I was very disappointed with our meal last night I had a margarita which was good but it had really hard rock salt on the side like I was chewing glass.. we got the grave digger nacho and tostada appetizer and the chicken tasted like it came out of a can just was not right . This morning my husband woke up around 2 throwing up and called out of work. I was nauseous as well but pushed through it .. I am very disappointed.. the star is because the waiter was amazing..

My friends and I love this place. The food is so good, and the margaritas are even better. They also have great vegetarian options. My only complaint is that the service can be really hit or miss -- we've had 2x in a row now where either the server was pissed off and being snippy with us, or we had a brand new server that no one else was helping, who was really struggling while the other wait staff just watched. Next time I come in, I'm going to ask for an experienced server, just cause it can be so hit or miss.

Vegetarian options: Avocado enchiladas are consistently delicious!

Atmosphere is trite and jaded. Service was lackluster, they comped the queso with chorizo because they forgot to make it twice! And the food well I’ve had better here but not of late, we haven’t eaten here for several months because both my fiancé and I didn’t feel well after eating here, well we thought we’d give it a go, and now wish we hadn’t as I now feel unwell, we won’t be coming back.

We had language issues with Victor when ordering our meal but everything came out ok. Victor ended up with the giggles every time he came to our table, don't know what's funny but at least he's happy. Their sopapilla is flower shape, drizzled with chocolate, and the whipped cream is the center of the flower, it's very pretty. Sopapilla is family size and well worth it for $6.

Prices are reasonable, especially in 2024, food is fresh and good, drinks are delish. Will be back with more friends.

Love this awesome Mexican restaurant. Very convenient, very delicious and people are quite friendly. Let’s not forget the great margaritas!

Reminds me of some of my family’s cooking whom are Mexican. Very close to authentic.

Highly recommended, give it a shot. I promise you won’t disappoint. Oh and have them make you a fresh margarita they are the best!

Very good service and delicious food!

Cute place that we always wondered how the food was. Based upon 4.4 stars we decided to give this a try. Went in looking forward to good mexican cuisine and a margarita. Employees are friendly but uniform was questionable as everyone was in a cantina shirt and exercise shorts or leggings. Which we thought was kinda strange. The waiter was friendly and we placed our drink order. I asked for a skinny margarita. I do not think there is a bartender and it is actually the waiters who make the cocktails. The margarita was really not good, so I asked for him to please exchange for the sangria as this sounded good. The waiter never brought the Sangria...which is no bueno because he kept it on the bill!!! The food was also not good...my husband got the burria tacos which had hardly any meat on them, me and my daughter got the cantina Louie fajitas which were over cooked. Again, at the end I asked the waiter to be sure the sangria wasn't on the bill since he never brought the drink. He instead added a coupon for a free queso. Sadly, we will not be going back as one visit was enough!
