This has been the best food and service we’ve had after spending a month in St.Augustine. The views are amazing with the spanish moss hanging from the massive tree over you or the sunset on the water due to the direction the deck faces. Our waitress super professional, friendly and helpful. We arrived early for the best seat in the house (in our opinion!). Be there for sunset! My partner loved the Belgian fries (he is Belgian!). We drove to Cap's this past Saturday at 4pm for a late lunch. The restaurant seems priced for tourists. You have to valet park, so be prepared for that tip. The prices are really HIGH for what you get, and we felt the menu is nothing special. We only ordered 2 apps, Smoked Fish Dip ($17) and Garlic Shrimp ($20). We are used to paying that much for full entrees. Beers were $8 ea. The service was painstakingly slow at times. It took 10 mins to get waters when we first sat down. We rarely saw our waitress and getting the check and paying to leave took over 20 mins. It took an hour and a half to eat lunch, and it wasn't even crowded. We won't return.

Fantastic experience! The water view picture was from our table. I only managed to take the desert picture of rum cake and crème brûlée dessert. They tasted even better than they looked. We had the calamari appetizer, I had the lemon Almond crusted flounder with mashed potatoes and my friend had seared mahi tuna. Everything was very well prepared, presented beautifully and the taste exceeded our expectations. Thank you for a delightful evening!

love the ambiance of this place. very pretty and comfortable. the highlights for us were the pesto caesar salad, the she crab soup, the calamari, truffle fries, the pear ravioli, and the nitro espresso martinis! we came at 9 pm and there was no wait for a table and the service was so fast. will def be returning when we’re in town! parking is valet only so keep that in mind.

A great meal with an awesome view. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. Has been consistently good for the 22 years I have been going.

Recently visited Caps with friends for dinner. They highly recommended the restaurant based on fantastic food, views, and service. Our evening there did not disappoint. When we arrived there was a 30 minute wait (they don't take reservations); however the time flew by as we sat on their expansive partially covered dock overlooking the intercostal with a server at the ready to take our drink orders. We chatted and enjoyed a cocktail while we waited. The next thing we knew, our table was ready, and it was right along the water. We had a great meal of oyster rockefeller, scallops, crusted salmon, and crusted sheepshead along with another round of drinks. Our server was kind and attentive. The valet parking is a nice touch as well. We would definitely come back. Thanks!

4-14-24. Have a great experience here this evening. Five stars to the values, reception, waitstaff, the food (preparers) and six stars for the atmosphere/location! Shrimp and calamari appetizers were excellent! We will be back to try more later. If this review is helpful, please give him a thumbs up.??

We’ve eaten at great restaurants across the US, Hawaii, and Europe.Cap’s has wonderful food, great location, and a unique vibe. We ate here 30 years ago pre-kids, when it was a dock and some tables in the sand. It’s grown immensely since then, but it retains its charm and attention to detail with food and service. It’s a highly memorable experience in addition to great food. Can’t recommend enough. Special thanks to Kara (spelling?).
