What a gem a little off the beaten path! We made reservations somewhere else and they had 90 minute call ahead wait time which jumped up another hour after we checked in, so we all got a little upset and cancelled it. I turned the corner and ran into this place, we were seated right away and Tyler was our waiter and the service was fantastic along with the food being delicious!

This is my favorite restaurant in the Historic District of St. Augustine! It's a hidden gem in the heart of our country's oldest city. If you love sweet tea and cinnamon, you'll love their sweet tea! Their menu has just the right amount of Mexican and Latin American dishes to satisfy your palate! My husband and I have tried the chips & salsa, which is not your average chips & salsa...it's better! The salsa is made fresh in-house with their 100% baked corn tostadas (these are large, delicious, geometric triangles)! Tonight, we ordered the Mussels for our appetizer! Another fan favorite! If you are a lover of seafood, shellfish, and Prince Edward Island, Canada, then these Mussels are worth every penny! We tried these in the garlic white wine sauce. Delish! We also ordered the Mar Y Tierra (Paella for two) as our entree...this dish is an ocean of goodness with a dash of chicken and chorizo with a side of the most delicious, crispy, toasty, buttery, bread to soak up the last drop of sauce from your bowl/plate! But don't take our word for it...you must go here to try it for yourself! ¡disfrutar!

Worst possible experience on the first day of the year. We called there and they said they didn't make reservations that there were tables available. We arrived at the restaurant 5 adults and 2 babies and waited for about 30 minutes for a table. They wanted to put us on a 4-seater table at the bottom of the restoration where obviously our family would not fit, even though there was another 6-seat table in the front. A group of 13 people arrived and they put it in this place and thought it was good that we should wait longer 🤡 as if we were trash!!! That is, they preferred to sell 13 dinners than accommodate a family of 5 who were waiting to be seated. The person at the reception said that people had reservations, but as if on the call they said they didn't make reservations?! I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF IT WAS POSSIBLE, THEY ENDED OUR FAMILY'S NIGHT!!!

Poor service. Was waiting for 25mins for a table of 5 and 2 car seats. Watched a table leave that would fit us, that they took forever to clear than as it was finished cleaning it a table of 13 walked up. So they tried stuffing my family into a 4 top that wouldn’t fit us. When I stated I wanted the larger table (which is 3 separate little tables) back up front I was told the party of 13 was using it even though they just walked up. They weren’t waiting and I watched the host offer them a buzzer to wait. Attempting to tell us we can go back and wait for another table. Unacceptable behavior from the hostess. And refused to accommodate us by saying that large 3 individual tables could ok’d be used for a large party. Ridiculous for my family to wait with 2 toddlers in strollers.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible Service. Waiter brought soup bowl spilled over and half empty. Then, in the bit of soup brought to me, there was a hair. The waiter took it back. Then a different server offered to help us move tables and as we were moving tables the previous waiter said there were no other tables and brought the check (I hadn’t asked for it yet) and asked me to please pay for my food so I could please leave and to at least pay for my food before leaving in a bad tone. I was not planning on leaving, simply relocating to a different table. I have never been to a restaurant in which a waiter asks me to “please leave” and handing me a check before I even ask for it.

Stopped here on our way home from a long road trip. It was perfect because they have a dog friendly patio, and we were traveling with our dog. The food was delicious and tasted authentic. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Also was very kid friendly for a little one!

Amazing food and service! I had a spinach tortilla quesadilla with chicken and fresh baby spinach—perfectly crispy and not too cheesy. Paired it with a glass of Albariño (love that they have it on the menu!). Great atmosphere, right in the heart of everything. We walked in and even got a complimentary photo with a QR code for the Google review—brilliant marketing 😜 Highly recommend

The food and drinks at Casa Maya are delicious! We loved the outdoor seating as it was shaded and they allowed our dog as well! There was a gentleman playing music in the background that was pleasant. There was a kind lady who took our photo and we have as a keepsake to remember our wonderful experience here! We definitely recommend and will come back! 🤗💝
