Great food, awesome service.
Had to get my drink, I like to let it be empty for 5+ minutes before I get it myself. The rest of the customer service was similar, or offended since I didn't want to wait any longer for my drink... I let it be empty for more than 5 minutes before trying to get the guys attention to get my drink. Was in the afternoon on 12-18-2025

It is small (maybe converted house), but their food is delicious and authentic. The inside has ~9 booths and 4 or 5 tables that hold larger families/groups. Definitely recommend!!

Don't expect Glitz & Glam at this location. Very small and outdated with a serious lack of evidence that they invest in the atmosphere. Dark and dinghy. But the ceiling tiles were absolutely disgusting covered in stains and visible dust. The staff have some language barrier but it is manageable. The menu had items that were priced decent and some that were not. Example is the large queso dip that is priced at $17 and some change food arrived hot and fresh and was very good.

Tonight’s experience at El Porto was extremely disappointing, especially considering it has been one of my longtime favorite spots since moving to this town even dating back to when I lived here years ago.
We were greeted as soon as we walked in, mostly because several employees were gathered around the first table rolling silverware. After being seated, chips and salsa were brought promptly, and a server took our drink order and returned with the drinks. I also ordered queso for the table.
Unfortunately, the service ended there. No one returned to take our food order. After waiting 5–10 minutes with no acknowledgement, I finally asked someone if we could place our order. A different server not the one who brought our drinks took the order, dropped off the food, and then disappeared. We received no refill, no check-in, no “How is everything?” nothing.
Meanwhile, the staff returned to the front table, talking, laughing, and carrying on while completely ignoring the dining room.
By the end of the meal, I found myself tidying the table and walking to the front to request our check just so we could leave.
Sadly, tonight will be my last visit to this restaurant. It’s disappointing, especially since it’s one of my wife’s favorite places in town. But experiences like this highlight how poor management and lack of oversight can truly damage a restaurant.

Friendly greetings upon entering.
Good service.
They accommodated our birthday cake celebration by providing a lighter and extra plates and forks.
The food.
The chips & salsa was bangin! So good!
I got the Mahi and shrimp tacos. The protein was a little over cooked and too salty for my flavor.
The water was straight unfiltered tap.

We were a little disappointed. The service was really great, but the inside of the restaurant needs a lot of TLC and the food was ok, with the exception of their house salsa that was delicious.

Place needs renovation, especially the ceiling. Food was average Mexican. Service was incredible, friendly and efficient! 😀

The best and maybe only real Mexican restaurant in the area. The prices, service and atmosphere are all what were expected.

They were not busy and yet, were not attentive to us at all. We ordered cheese dip & our basket of chips was almost empty from 4 of us munching on them with the salsa when the dip was brought out... they should have noticed & brought more out... our chip basket was empty, so we couldn't eat the cheese dip, for a good 5 - 10 mins and then my friend had to call out to someone to get our chips refilled. The food was a nice portion, just kinda bland. Never once re-filled our water. Never came back to ask if everything was okay like most restaurants do... maybe because they knew we were not local they didn't feel the need to give us good service. I was excited to try it out, the website looked like it was going to be a great place... it was not. The margaritas were terrible, I noticed it's wine based, maybe that's why... Definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone just visiting the area.
