El Potro Mexican Restaurant

Although I do enjoy the Orlando based locations, I was a bit disappointed with this one.
The place is dingy and smells a little moldy and has a ramp step that my Aunt nearly fell from because there are no signs and no warning. The waitress messed up two out of the three orders at our table. The chips and salsa were great and the food was pretty good but nothing very special. The atmosphere could use a spruce up. The food was good, but not great.

I Called in an order and picked it up at El Porto on my way home as I noticed it was the closest Mexican restaurant to my home. I had high hopes of finding a nearby great place to eat. Sadly I was very disappointed. I ordered the grande burrito and the fillings were way overcooked. The chicken was very chewy and firm, and the vegetables were black and burned. I’m shocked that any cook with any dignity would burn a dish that bad and still serve it. Since it was takeout, I didn’t know until I got home. I paid $28 for a Burn burrito plus side of cheese, dip, and fill. It was a huge waste of money. I will not return to this restaurant I would not advise others to go as well

Food was great, service was quick and welcoming.
We ate after 8pm and there weren't many customers dining but it was a pleasant experience. Good portions and food was hot amd delicious. Would recommend this place to anyone that loves mexican food

We needed a quick place for lunch. This was recommended and we checked it out. Service was great, but the food was average.

It is a typical Mexican food. The flavors are originally from Mexico so you should go there.

Need more originibilidad.

Unfortunately this the worst Mexican food I have ever had. The food seemed microwaved. The meat was full of gristle. My steak had grayish green hue to it and it was shiny??? The queso had cheese skin mixed in. The burrito my husband ordered was not seasoned. He found something in his burrito that shouldn't have been there. Not sure what it was. My daughter in law had the chicken mole and we are sorry to report that we referred to this as dessert chicken all the way home ?‍?. No salt or pepper on the table. Service was sub par, but he was 2 days new. He was very nice though. The restaurant was completely empty. 0/5⭐️

I've enjoyed this place since 2012. However, the issue is with the new servers. Cologne wore so heavy that you can't breath. Parking in customer parking spaces in front of the building in those plastic Mustangs and they cannot count change/money/cash. They keep your change and they do this deliberatly. I've had to ask for it back, I've adjusted my tips because of it and now, I'm not going to return because of it. This is theft. And if you do it to several customer a day, week, month, it adds up. Maybe if they were better servers, they wouldn't need to disrespect the customers so bad. Never had a bad meal here but the rest leaves something to be desired... Indulge at your own risk and don't pay cash!!!

It's a little hole in the wall, but it's definitely good food. I also tried one of their juices, and it was so refreshing on a hot day!!

Worse experience ever. Forgot a dish. Everything was basically store bought. Paid too much for low quality food. Would never eat here again. They’re now saying I ordered chicken nuggets? My whole family came to eat. We all did not like the food.
