Tried to eat there, was told it wasn’t a family friendly restaurant. That is a direct quote from the general manager. Whom doesn’t seem very experienced in running a restaurant at all…1 high chair. No tables are the same size. It’s basically a restaurant for couples who want to wait an hour in a parking lot before they eat and hope their table doesn’t get turned over to someone else. Do not recommend at all.

Tried to go into this place twice, two days in a row. Their hours are extremely wonky, it’s extremely small, and they are extremely rude. Do not have tables for more than 4 ppl inside. And only about 10 tables inside PERIOD. Then they have some random ones outside. Some tables are tall, some tables are short. Arrive there at 830pm one night which is apparently when they and only they in this area close they say no seating. No problem. We were late, come back tm. Tomorrow comes 5:30 pm right after they open but because they have like 12 tables total they’re booked. They Say you can wait an hour and you can MAYBE get a table. Also said they don’t have the tools for kids. Because if you aren’t sitting at a low table which they only have a few of.. long story short. Avoid this place they have no clue what they’re doing, and they’re rude and just overall not that intelligent. They’re only open a few hours a day and unless you are going in with one other person and want to wait an hour, it is essentially impossible to get a table here.

Standout gem in a beautiful beachside town... made for a phenomenal date night with the wife on a laid back beach trip... must get the oysters if you're there!

We had a dozen oysters, two cioppino's, and the hanger steak. Apple pie a la mode and a bottle of wine. The four of us loved every bite and had leftovers. The steak was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The acoustics are tough in the dining room and it gets loud but the food is the star here. Dylan was our server, he knew the menu well and was attentive.Parking: Unpaved but plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: Not a great place for the kids.

This place is awesome, the food and our server (Trevor) were exceptional! We will definitely being adding it to the top on our favorite list on our visits to St Augustine Beach restaurants.

The food is excellent. The service runs hot and cold. Don't piss off the woman who is the manager. She's a pit bull. We won't be back because of her. Too bad, we really liked going there.

Second year driving past, and decided to try it out. We entered and was promptly asked how many. Two people and was told to sit at any table even if they were set for four. We sat and waited ten to fifteen minutes and none of the staff even spoke to us. Both tables next to us, and other patrons who went out to patio were being served. We got up and while leaving I spoke to an employee and told her why we were leaving. She did apologize. When we returned home, after we found an Italian restaurant way up the street which we had great service and food. I called the Elkhouse and asked to speak to a manager. The server Tony answered the call, and I asked for the manager who he said was busy, ask while I was calling to file a complaint. I could hear him talking to the manager, who got on the phone , never identified who she was by name or position. After I asked she told me she was the manager. She says she was the person whom I spoke to on our way out. She apologized again. She said she spoke to the staff. It’s not a very big restaurant, so I cannot see how we could have been overlooked. Not sure if we will give it another try

Ate there several weeks ago. VERY small onside, I counted 11 tables all very close together plus a screened in pourch type area. Bar sat about a dozen. My husband had the pork chop, very tough. Charcuterie board very good. I had the chicken, salty. Wanted the wild boar & Buffalo meatballs, no longer carrying them. Waitress was great!! I don't see what all the fuss is about this place. We drove down from Orange Park. Won't be returning.

Aggressive locals try to control the first come first serve line... food not worth that fight in my opinion
