Growing up Northern New Jersey I've been to a couple diners. Anybody who knows Northern New Jersey knows that's a significant understatement.

Georgie's Diner would stand out.

Avgolemono soup was scrumptious. I decided to have a lighter but I would shrimp Caesar salad. Perfect dressing perfectly cooked shrimp. Others in our party have open hot turkey sandwich as well as the Grape Leaves. All excellent.

Looks nice on the outside, inside was fine. It’s a nice day outside, so we asked if it was possible to sit out there. The said it was probably filled, went to check, then went silent. Didn’t let us know, just yelled to a server somewhere else on the floor that they have a table outside. I’m in the industry, I know they were upset about it. Little back and forth between server had host, whatever. We walked out there, and the waitress slams the coffee and orange juice we ordered down. No greeting, asked if we are ready and I said a few minutes. She just huffed said fine and walked back. Already done with her attitude. She came back and I asked what was in the spicy breakfast burrito. She said everything. I said okay, and she begrudgingly went through the list. I said it’s okay I’ll have steak and eggs. She then tells me they are out of steak. Cool, I ordered the burrito. My girlfriend ordered the country style eggs Benedict and the gravy came out of a can, or at least it tasted just like that. It was cheap price so it makes sense. When the food runner gave us our food she was very sweet, so we asked for a coffee, no worries. She said she’d tell our server, and then we never got it. The only time the server was nice was when she dropped the bill. The server had dyed red hair, and she looked like she’d been serving for a while. Listen, the older generation running a diner vibe is cool, it makes sense. But you need to make sure the staff gets the memo that older ladies in diners were sweet, and pushed back a little to kids, and gave recommendations. They’re not angry they’re still working. We obviously won’t be back.

This is a classic American diner that I highly recommend. The food was fantastic and the service was top-notch. We had a pleasure of being served by Marcia, and she added greatly to the positive experience.
