had a good overall experience. The drinks were well made and very enjoyable, and the food we did try was prepared nicely — fresh, flavorful, and presented well. Service was attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. That said, the menu selection just wasn't quite the right fit for our tastes. While the quality was there, we didn't find as many options that appealed to us personally. If you're looking for solid drinks, well-prepared dishes, and a nice evening out, La Cocina delivers. For us, it was a good experience, just not exactly aligned with the kind of menu we usually gravitate toward.
We were very excited to try this restaurant, as the reviews were positive. We started with cocktails, mine was fine, my husband's was underwhelming. For appetizers, we had a salad that tasted like it had canned fruit on it and the roasted oysters. The flavor of 4 of 6 oysters was delicious, however, the size was so small that we questioned if there was an oyster in the shell at all. The main entree of chilean sea bass was tasty. If you go there, I would recommend that dish. There were only a few selections of desserts and none looked appealing to us, so we went out onto the balcony to have another drink. My drink was too sweet this time, a server never came to the table, so we had to walk back and forth to the bar to get drinks. Servers were standing near the bar chatting. The musician was terrible, but much of the music was drowned out by yapping dogs who would bark at anyone who walked by...so we left. I hate tearing apart a business, but this is the basics of our experience. The bartender and server were both nice.
Went for my Anniversay, but though the food was great, the service was lacking that impacted our evening. Maybe our server had a bad evening but she was not very attentive, long initial wait before greeting at the table and drink ran out.
First time I have ever given a 5 star review to a restaurant. Everything was simply perfection. I told my wife I have had everything on their menu at other places, but they seem to just do it better at La Cocina. The ceviche had a creamy sauce that made it incredibly good and elevated. The Lamb was cooked perfectly and the variety of little bits that were plated with it was inspired. My wife's mojito was the best she had ever had. Our server was named Gina and she was on the spot with everything. It was a heavenly evening. Really.
Was so happy to find La Cocina as they had moved. Loved it as much as previous visits. Fantastic food. Service was amazing. All around wonderful experience. Highly recommend!!!
Great experience from start to finish. Service was outstanding and food phenomenal from appetizer, wine, and then the meal. Great job! Get the pork chop.
Food and drinks were great. We are there celebrating my birthday and our anniversary. We were surprised with a delicious dessert. Would definitely recommend this place to others
One of the best meals we've had in the St Augustine area in a while. The dining area is simple but elegant with Spanish flair. Our server was friendly and helpful with my wife navigating her gluten allergy. She loved the summer salad, declaring it one of her favorite appetizers ever. My lobster bisque was very good as well. We both had the filet for our entrees and they were very flavorful and properly cooked to our respective temperatures. She had the coconut panna cotta for dessert as the only gluten free option, but enjoyed it. The tripe chocolate cake was delicious and very rich. Small but decent selection of wines and wine cocktails. We will absolutely be back soon and probably regularly.
The service here was top-notch—our server was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience feel special. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly: tender, flavorful, and simply delicious. A fantastic meal all around. 100% will be returning soon. Highly recommend!
Fair to average at BEST. We moved to St. A 3 years ago and are always hoping to find something new and a hidden gem.........La Cocina is NOT one of them. WAY WAY WAY overpriced for the food and experience you receive. I frequently spend in excess of $500 for a meal....my total bill for 2 was $250. IMO it was at best a $75 to $100 meal with tip.

A great experience! Everything was prepared to perfection! Of special note, roasted oysters and lamb chops & bread.. oh my! Tableware was immaculate!
Perfectly prepared meal with extraordinary service. Our server was the best we have ever had, anywhere and we eat at VERY nice restaurants!
Definitely will return for the good food and service. Good aalue too. The charcuterie platter was ample for 4. The Lamb chops were delicious. Decor is a little dated with carpet instead of hard floors but still nice. On-line I only found wines by the glass menu. When I contacted them in a message asking to see the complete wine list, I got a short response "its on-line and there is a $25 corkage fee". So, I brought my own by turns out they have a nice wine by the bottle list, and it wasn't necessary to BYOB. In general, a great place and plenty of parking at the San Sebastien winery (Cocina is on the 3rf floor).
We had a great evening dining at La Cocina. The ambience is wonderful if you're looking for a quiet, romatic place in which you can etertain any guest. The staff treated us like family and the food is excellent.
We had a party of 6 with one waitress and she did a phenomenal job. Extremely attentive and helpful. I arrived last so I unfortunately didn't capture her name. Food was delicious and the ambiance was amazing.
