Great place! Finally a French onion soup that's not salty. They did not have the Atlantic fish but were very accommodating and gave me the best crab cakes I ever had with grilled vegetables, since I did not want potatoes. Is great to go to a place where food is flavor is at best. Thank you for making mu night.
Treated like beggars. Terrible service, attitude and atmosphere. We shouldn't have tipped, but we did it anyway. This is actually very wrong because they might think the kindness and professionalism doesn't make any difference. Anyway we didn't appreciate the service, arrogance, attitude, and the atmosphere. The food not worth the frustration.
I had a beautiful cream soup and a great piece of veal here. Cooked perfectly, lovely atmosphere.
For many years this was my favorite restaurant and I could have lived off their food only. Having on their last week nothing that was brought to our table was edible. We paid our bill we didn't ask for a refund but we all left full plates. They're famous French onion soup was the worst say that I've tasted in a long time
Excellent food. Very tasty. Would go back again.
A city favorite, fantastic lamb chops, short ribs and oh the cheesecake !
EXCELLENT! I cannot praise the Le Pavillon Hotel and Staff enough! Not only was the staff including bell hop, front desk, asst. manager, manager, bartenders, everyone, super nice, they were super helpful and accommodated our every need, question, and treated my friends and I like royalty. We felt so blessed to be in the presence of such amazing people. The hotel itself is astonishing! The décor, historic architectural design, and comfortability made the regal and elegant atmosphere come alive! The bed was beyond comfortable, plush pillows, comforters and sheets! The mattress felt like the best sleep I've ever had. The bathroom was spa style and white marble shower and flooring, with plenty of counter space for accessories, toiletries, etc. The room comes with a hair dryer all the toiletries needed and if we needed anything else, the staff were sure to bring it right up (we forgot toothpaste.) There were plenty of outlets and usb connections available throughout the room and in the lobby. The lobby also has plenty of comfortable lounging areas and stylish which was great for photo opps! The bar was Al Capone's original bar so it is a must visit and the bartenders will make you your choice beverage just the way you like it and will listen to your (less than sober) stories. The roof top pool and view, nothing short of amazing! Plenty of towels already waiting near the pool so no need to bring your own. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking. The staff will also bring you drinks to the pool!! There is dining at the restaurant too and the waiters and staff there are great! Super thoughtful and packed all of our meals to go and would pack extra water, utensils, napkins, salt/pepper, without asking! Everyone is also knowledgeable about where to go and things to do! Oh and they will take photos for you and re-take without hesitancy. Overall, Le Pavillon made my birthday experience the BEST I HAVE EVER, EVER HAD and I am so thankful! Le Pavillon Hotel is the BEST and I will ALWAYS stay here when I return to New Orleans!
If you are thinking of using Le Pavillon for a big gathering make sure they provide enough staff. Cocktails service was slow or non existent for some. I filled my own water glass multiple times. I felt the waitress was grouchy. She would cut you off at mid sentence if you had a question. I'm sure she was overwhelmed. Most of the food was good. Some dishes came out without sauce. Another aggravation was you had to split the bill into 5 checks or less. When we tried to split, it was hard for the waitress to determine what dish went on who's bill. Desaster! I have had dinner here in the past and was always happy. IDK...large parties are a pain I guess.
Thank you for your review! We are so glad you enjoyed your service and food and hope to see you again soon!
We went here because we had been here a few years ago and enjoyed it. This time we found entrees to be pricey and the food ordinary. Had the wedge salad which was disappointing. Came in a huge bowl and was about one quarter of a head of iceberg lettuce in a wedge, not cut at all, with very little of the ingredients listed on the menu with it. The lettuce had to be attacked with a knife before being able to eat the salad. We had to ask for the buns which other tables were given and they came without butter. Also had to ask for salt and pepper. The French onion soup and the pork schnitzel entree were adequate. The service was good - no complaints there. In general it wasn't as good as we thought it would be.

Ooo la la! Lovely dinner of appetizers tonight. I have been a little under the weather and wanted some good French onion soup and that's exactly what I found at Le Pavilion. Everything is locally sourced and made from scratch in house and you can taste their passion and love of food in their dishes. We had them bring everything at once. I got my onion soup with a Florentine crepe. My companion got the cream of potato, bacon and onion soup and the Boar sausage appetizer. They layered the flavors so well! The decor was warm French country with hardwood floors and lace curtains. Our server was a knowledgeable college student who was attentive and charming. We will definitely be back to explore more of this fine restaurant's offerings.
Under the old management, not only was the food a continental delight but the service was handled in a professional manner by a mature well-dressed wait staff. No matter the size of our group (from 4 to as large as 16) we had no problems making reservations or having them properly honored. Those among us familiar with the menu could even pre-order when making reservations. Not this time. Without the prior courtesy of a phone call, we were bluntly told on our prompt arrival that we would have to wait at least half an hour because of a private party. The wait staff looked like they had just finished high school and some were in shorts and t-shirts. It now had the ambience of a fast food restaurant. Needless to say, we did not hesitate to say goodbye. I do not think they will see us there again.
Haven't been to Le Pavillon for several years. What has happened? The food was ordinary and over-priced. The service was minimal. The bread was still good. I don't think I'll ever go back. Many other locals had told me not to go but I wanted to try ot for myself. What a disappointment.
Excellent food. Great service. Just remodeled. Friendly and delicious!
Quaint and historic St. Augustine restaurant. There's a story to the building and literature to learn about while dining. The food was perfectly cooked with traditional menu items and some house originals. They also have German food items.
