We much preferred the intimate setting of the old location. There was a very large party that was very loud and inconsiderate. Not the romantic dinner we had hoped for. Food was good but would not recommend for a quiet date night. Couldn't talk or even hear the piano.
From start to finish, our dining experience was top-notch. Our waiter struck the perfect balance—attentive and incredibly friendly without being overbearing. Drinks stayed full and every request was met with a smile. The food? Absolutely amazing. My steak was cooked perfectly to a medium-well, while my fiancé's medium-rare was just as spot-on. You could taste the care in every bite. And the dessert... wow. A sweet ending that totally sealed the deal. We'll absolutely be back!
Michael' s is by far the best resturant in St Augustine. Starting with the full service bar, service was outstanding. Food was excellent. Pricing was fair.
Went to Michael's to celebrate my father's birthday. The appetizers were fantastic. We ordered the bread plate, beef carpaccio and shrimp. We all ordered steak for dinner. My father and I had the filet and it did not disappoint. My step mom ordered the Beef Wellington and she also said it was delicious. We also ordered dessert. The tres leches cake and the banana fosters and it was the perfect portion to split. It was our first time at the restaurant and it will certainly not be our last!
Completely exceeded expectations. From the onset, we were warmly welcomed, and seated immediately. Table service was exceptional, friendly and knowledgeable. Food was extraordinary, Michelin level exceptional. Amazing wine list noted by Wine Enthusiast in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Carlos, (Som II), provided excellent recommendations form a wine list that easily topped 1000 bottles. Amazing experience! We're excited to return for the Chef's, tastings and pairings!
Our second visit to Michael's and the food was outstanding. We look forward to our next visit.
Went here for a birthday and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is beautiful, and the service was amazing, but the food was the true star of the show. Easily one of the best restaurants in the St. Augustine area.
Absolutely phenomenal experience- Drew was our server and his hospitality was immaculate. As a precious hospitality manager he delivered the hospitality, anyone should be thankful to have someone like drew in their staff.
The food was excellent- we had the seafood tower and WOW mind blowing. The 60 day age filet was to die for melted like butter!
We are so thankful to have shared our wedding night here - Must go
Thank you so much. We last ate your place when it was still downtown..and although I missed the tater tots with the Caviar. The meal was delicious and our waitperson was perfect! We will come again when in St Augustine next time! Love the decor in the new place!
Absolutely the best restaurant in St. Augustine! A must try!

A HUGE let down.
My boyfriend (who recently returned from his culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris) and I ate here this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Our entire experience was nothing short of a disappointment.
We chose Michael’s because he is looking for restaurants to apply to when he returns from his final training at Le Cordon Bleu in January. Safe to say Michael’s is off the list.
We were seated promptly per our 6:30 reservation and then proceeded to wait 20 minutes for our server to visit our table. The hostess noticed we hadn’t been waited on and went to grab her. Our waitress was very nice however we are young (under 21) and she (along with other staff) did not treat us like equal adults.
We ordered the beet salad and cast iron shrimp appetizers. The dishes were okay but certainly nothing spectacular and showed a lack of creativity and attention to detail.
We ordered the ribeye with chimichurri and brandy peppercorn sauces, the grilled broccolini, and whipped potatoes to share as our main. Simple dishes, but it’s never a bad idea to judge a restaurant based on how they execute the simple, straightforward (maybe even boring) dishes. We specified a medium rare steak but were served a VERY rare steak — my boyfriend commented that even in Paris they would call it very rare and that’s saying something. When we flagged down our waitress to let her know our steak was under cooked, she proceeded to attempt to explain the difference between rare, medium rare, medium, etc. However, being that one of us has full culinary training it was very obvious she didn’t have a clear understanding of what she was trying to explain, or rather convince us of. As people who have worked in the service industry, the first thing you learn is that the customer is “always right” and the back and forth of attempting to persuade us our rare steak was medium rare, was highly unprofessional. We were also told that they are supposed to have the customer check the steak's temperature (by cutting into it) upon its arrival at the table, which they did not ask us to do.
By the time we finished discussing our dissatisfaction with the steak our sides were cold. Not to mention the grilled broccolini with herb gremolata tasted very bland — like broccoli tossed in oil. The whipped potatoes with garlic herb butter were also bland, very grainy and tasted old. Both dishes I (girlfriend with very basic cooking abilities) could have made at home. The sauces had very little flavor and were not well prepared — the chimichurri was basic and had very large chunks of parsley in it. The peppercorn sauce was extremely over salted and had very little pepper.
The food was uninspiring and did not have the Puerto Rican twist we were told by our waitress to expect. Not what we were expecting from a restaurant this expensive.
We opted out of dessert as the $160 spent on bad service and mediocre food was more than enough.
As fabulous as always. The wine was fabulous. The food was amazing. The price hurts, but is more than worth it
We got the special fried red snapper. It was tasteless. Side sauce was nice but not good enough to make up for the tasteless fish. Service was ok but we waited a long time for meal then check
We enjoyed a marvelous dinner with fabulous wine at Michael's St. Augustine. The scallop special and, in particular, the MARKET VEGETABLES were outstanding dishes. It isn't often that I am impressed by vegetable offerings, but I consider these some of the best, with the potato pave being extraordinary.
It was indeed a pleasure to discuss wines with Claudio Giardino, the Sommelier, who was both knowledgeable and amiable, and backed with an award-winning winelist, The 2011 Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial Rioja, Spanish red that we had was phenomenal.
The atmosphere of the well-appointed decor, great pianist, and Michael, our server, who provided top-notch service, all made for a very memorable and highly recommended fine dining experience!
Nice place. Good food.
