The pesto sucks. The sirloin totally dry. Tasteless food. Flat sodas. The services was great.

Our favorite restaurant of the trip! We got the pesto pasta with chicken, it was delicious and a HUGE portion which we took for leftovers. I also had the sweet potato and black bean soup, also delicious. Free parking, whereas almost everything downtown required expensive parking fees. The staff went above and beyond. The atmosphere was quiet which we needed after being downtown surrounded by people and music all day. Clean bathrooms, adorable interior. Cheaper than other restaurants but definitely didnt taste cheaper :).

We had a fabulous experience checking out Purple Olive! From the appetizers to the dessert - everything was perfect! Our server, Jennifer was super attentive & made great suggestions on what to order. We can’t wait to go back! I wish they did brunch though!

Had a great dinner at Purple Olive. We had the tofu, pork special, stuffed chicken, and the chocolate bomb for dessert. Everything had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. Service was good and attentive. Be aware of parking, as we were leaving a waiter from the restaurant next door was telling other patrons that they have separate parking lots.

I’m not giving you 5 stars.
It was our Wedding Anniversary and hoped we would get at least great service. I used google reservations.
Waited 18 minutes for drinks . Really People?
Refused an extra slice of bread unless I paid for it but got butter when I asked for it. Really People?
Served a teaspoon to eat Clam Chowder. Really people? If you can’t afford Soup Spoons don’t serve soup.
The food was excellent, the server was nervous and probably her first day.
Will I come back? Most likely not…. but good luck.

Chef Pete has been a reckoning force for a couple of decades, and his restaurant Purple Olive has become a staple in the St. Augustine community. Anyone who knows him or has had the honor to work alongside him knows his work ethic and dedication are top tier. So to see his new restaurant emerge bringing new life to the old Gypsy Cab is something to be excited for! The place is aesthetically appealing and the food is great! Do yourself a favor and visit asap, you’ll be happy you did!

I've just moved here and have been watching Purple Olive, their new location and their menu. We finally made it! What a wonderful early menu. Kudos to -Dana-...the best bartender/waitress we have had! The food was wonderful! I hate to recommend just because we might have trouble getting in! Reservations recommended!

The food was delicious. I had salmon with creamy Dijon sauce and my husband had macadamia crusted Mahi. Cooked perfectly and delicious.
We sat at the side bar and Tara and Cinda were a great team. They were attentive and made sure my meal was exactly what I wanted.
My only complaint is that the acoustics are terrible. It is so loud you can’t have a conversation. It is so loud in there that when I had called earlier the hosted could not hear me. It was a little better in the side bar but still a little loud.

Used to frequent the Purple Olive at the old location when they had the fixed price menu. The menu was simple and delicious and the price was fair for everyday locals to dine more than once a week. I was anxious to try the new location but I was very disappointed to find that the parking was very limited, the atmosphere was typical tourist trap and the menu had completely changed with typical tourist trap food fare, escalated prices and no more fixed price menu. It's a completely different restaurant. I guess they decided to cater to tourists now more than locals. Possible new owner??
Needless to say, I will not go be going back and will not recommend.
