Lovely little place to grab a quick bite. Coffee is excellent as well. The bagels are epic and limited, so be sure to arrive early and get a large variety to pick from.

Best bagles in Florida?
That's the claim someone sitting next to me was making before I started my meal. Amd while I have yet to eat at every bagel shop in Florida, I can't dispute it. If you want breakfast in St. Augustine, this is the place to do it.

Schmagel’s Bagels in St. Augustine is an absolute breakfast gem. 🥯✨ The lox and everything bagel is perfection—fresh, generously layered and bursting with flavor. The everything bagel has that ideal balance of crunch and chew, coated in seasoning that elevates every bite. The lox is silky and rich, paired beautifully with creamy schmear and fresh toppings that make it feel both indulgent and refined.

The bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich is just as outstanding. Perfectly cooked bacon, fluffy eggs and melty cheese come together on a warm, freshly baked bagel that holds it all without overpowering the fillings. It’s hearty, satisfying, and exactly what you want to start your morning right.

Add in the welcoming atmosphere and friendly service, and Schmagel’s easily earns its spot as a must-visit breakfast stop in St. Augustine. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is the kind of place you’ll be thinking about long after the last bite. ✨

Food poisoning ** edit: blown off by the owner because she mistook my review for somebody else.** Went back because we liked this place a few years ago but had a weird interaction while purchasing and I guess I’m glad they restricted how much we could buy because the one bagel I did eat (edit: cheddar jack and plain cream cheese) gave me food poisoning. Stay away.

Edit: Interesting you mentioned a bridal party. Not us, but we were a few people behind them. We tried to order six bagels to bring back for family in Tampa but were limited to four bagels and a few different cream cheeses and surprised by what seemed like an arbitrary limit, though we do understand wanting to be able to serve more people. We didn’t understand what seemed like a hostile interaction but it makes more sense if you had just had one before us with the bridal party order request. I hope your day got better. Either way, I did genuinely get sick from what I ate there (cheddar jack bagel and plain cream cheese) and your response is extremely disappointing.

Also creepy edit, I told you who I was and what I ordered. I’d think you’d want to look into somebody reporting illness rather than assume they’re somebody they’re not. Your response is very revealing though.

This is our second time visiting St Augustine and stopping by this place. The bagels are very tasty. The reg black coffee is just ok but I usually like mine very strong so that’s just a personal preference. The place has been around for 37 years and it does tend to get busy . Inside is very small, so only about 4 people can be inside ordering; they do have a few tables outside if you want to eat there. Overall it’s a great place for breakfast or if you’re a bagel lover

Best bagel I've ever had.
Regular coffee wasn't great I had to throw it away. Cold brew was good. I forgive them because the bagel was amazing.

The bagels were very good. I only don't understand why they would limit baking so little bagels in such a busy tourist area. They are open till 1:00 or until supplies of bagels are gone. We went at 11:00 a.m. and there were only 4 bagels left. We were hoping to purchase some to take home, but...
