I also dined here the night of the John Legend concert. Let me start out by saying I would love for this place to be a great Italian restaurant. I personally ordered the pasta Bolognese special, and it was delicious. But of our party of six, I think I was the only one that was truly happy with my meal. The primary problem is as the previous reviewer has pointed out, the meal took way too long to be served after ordering. His chicken Parm was obviously rushed to try to get out in time for us to make the start of the concert. There was a very large party (20+ ?) right next to us, but if I had snapped a photo of the dining room, it was nowhere near being full with many tables still empty (as other reviewers have documented in the past). So instead of being argumentative with every negative review, a good service establishment response would something to the effective of “I’m sorry you had a negative experience at our establishment, why don’t you please try us again to see if we can correct on our mistakes and give you a better experience!” or “we are in the process of looking at ways to increase our kitchen staff during our peak periods to solve issues like this in the future.” If you keep trying to doubt the veracity of photographic evidence of your meals and deny or continue to make excuses, I’m afraid this establishment may have rough times ahead. I truly hope not, because I love having a good variety of excellent eating establishments in St Augustine. This one is currently off my list.

Purtroppo brutto sogno.
We tried Sogno last year (Requested Correction - Sunday March 31 2024- for brunch I think.) I had a manzo dish - I recall tagliata di manzo. (I lived in Italy and actually do know good Italian). It was unremarkable at best. $500 for four persons, plus a hefty credit card charge and I wasn't crazy about returning, but we did anyway.
This time with a party of six before a concert (Oct. 28). We were seated next to a table of 22. Eventually we got our orders in. 5:45 pm reservation, orders in at about 6:20-6:30 still plenty of time for an 8 pm concert? Nope. Food came out around 7:35-7:45. Clearly the staff was in the weeds. My son got the osso buco and said it was terrible. I got chicken parm, had a few bites but had to leave for the show and took it home.
Today while reheating it, I was shocked to see the chicken was pink inside and not fully cooked. Side note: My wife had chicken marsala and was nauseous throughout that evening. Other members of the party were also very disappointed.
I am not a complainer and usually give good reviews, but this merited comment.
Reply to owner- unbelievable! I love it when owners get defensive, they seem to forget who is paying who. You’re confused alright - about what’s going on in your restaurant. It was absolutely served over spaghetti as all chicken Parmesan normally is. The fact you are calling me a liar and don’t even know your food speaks volumes. No correction needed. In fact, there were several things I didn’t even mention, for example, a six dollar bread charge for bread that came out late and cold, one guest’s salad that was tiny, and the waiters dismissive and cavalier attitude. Two stars was generous. Also, if readers care to check, there are a number of other negative reviews on yelp and elsewhere that mirror this experience.

Food was amazing! Period
The sever we has was awful. Maybe he was having a bad day or off day. But when the manager has to wait on our table, and I have to ask for a second glass.of wine.
Maybe it was my tattoos, or.....

Great cozy atmosphere!
Friendly, professional staff made this an enjoyable dinner!
Probably the best wine list in northern Florida!
Fantastic appetizer menu.
Somewhat limited entree selection.
We spent $250 for 2, but we ordered
Appetizer
1 wine and 1 cocktail
1 salad
2 bottles of still spring water
2 entrees
2 desserts
1 digestivo (digestive liquor)
And we tipped about 22% bc everyone was so involved in making sure our experience was amazing.
Brian and Stacy (the owners) were incredible hosts. We really appreciated their effort to make our night special!
Very personable staff! They have perfected the pace of the meal. Everything was brought out in perfect synchronization; as we finished our bread, the appetizer arrived; once that was complete the entrees were right on time. I never had to get Brian’s attention. He did an incredible job.

I had left a previous review of Sogno, but I thought it needed updating. Since opening as a charming, delightful Italian restaurant with a great bar (and barkeeps), it has evolved so nicely. Management (Brian & Stacey) more than a year later runs a high-class menu and successfully update often. Wines are well-priced & excellent wines with some sleepers on the list that surprise. Service runs with a family-like charm and refinement. Sogno continues to do great food attracting a jolly following. This is really a fun, local place to have dinner. We entertain all visiting guests to Sogno. Robustly rated by all

✨ Making People Feel Good with Food — That’s the Heart of Sogno ✨
Sogno — meaning “Dream” in Italian — lives up to its name in every sense. Nestled in the charming town of St. Augustine, this cozy Italian restaurant blends Old-World warmth with a refreshing coastal flair, creating a dining experience that feels both intimate and elevated. From the moment you step inside, it’s as if you’ve been welcomed into a friend’s home in Italy — one filled with the aroma of garlic, lemon, and freshly baked bread.
🍋 Authentic Flavors, Fresh Ingredients
Being right on the coast has its advantages. Sogno thoughtfully sources fresh, locally caught seafood and combines it with authentic Italian recipes to craft dishes that are vibrant, balanced, and unforgettable. Each plate feels carefully considered, highlighting both tradition and locality in perfect harmony.
Some standout dishes we tried include:
• 🦐 Sautéed Garlic Prawns – perfectly cooked with garlic, fresno chilies, smoky garlic, and served with grilled sourdough.
• 🥗 Cold Farro Salad – a refreshing medley of farro, garbanzo beans, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, Kalamata olives, pickled onions, olive oil, lemon, and arugula.
• 🍝 Chicken Parmesan – served over delicate capellini with parmesan; a timeless classic done beautifully.
• 🐟 Pan-Seared Cod – paired with pancetta risotto, seasonal vegetables, and a white wine lemon butter caper sauce that’s nothing short of exquisite.
🌟 A Personal Touch
Owners Stacy and Brian bring genuine warmth to every interaction, personally greeting guests and ensuring each table feels cared for. Our server, Danny, was equally outstanding—attentive, gracious, and knowledgeable, adding to the seamless dining experience.
Whether you’re planning a romantic date night or a special celebration, Sogno is the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression. It’s fresh, heartfelt, and utterly delicious — the kind of meal you’ll find yourself dreaming about long after the plates are cleared.

From the moment we walked into Sogno Restaurant, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting—like being welcomed into someone’s home for an authentic Italian meal, but with the added touch of fresh coastal flavors.
We tried several dishes, and each one was outstanding: the sautéed garlic prawns were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, the cold farro salad was fresh and vibrant, the chicken parmesan was comforting and delicious, and the pan-seared cod with risotto and lemon butter caper sauce was simply perfection. You can truly taste the freshness of the ingredients, especially the locally sourced seafood.
What makes Sogno stand out even more is the people behind it. The owners, Stacy and Brian, personally stopped by our table to check in, and their warmth and kindness made us feel so welcome. Our server, Danny, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. It’s rare to find a restaurant where both the food and hospitality are equally memorable, but Sogno delivers on both.
Whether you’re planning a date night, celebrating a special occasion, or just want an incredible Italian meal in St. Augustine, Sogno is truly a dream. We can’t wait to come back.

Some of the best Italian Cuisine I have ever had in my life! Beautiful dining area, and amazing service all around! Highly recommended!
Excellent Italian food. We had the mussels and beet salad for starters. Then shrimp fettuccine and eggplant Parmesan for dinner. Danny, our server, was very attentive. I love this.

This place is AMAZING! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary last night. We were greeted and seated by the owner Brian, and to our surprise we’re brought champagne in wedding flutes by Stacey and Brian, wow. Wonderful unique cocktails. The bread was wonderful and the food incredible. The best clam sauce we have ever had. Crunchy arancini, and meatballs moist and flavorful. Being former New Yorkers we know great food. Our server Sam was kind, attentive and knowledgeable. This is the place to go too if you want great authentic Italian food, great staff, atmosphete and owners are involved and amazing.

It's not an authentic Coastal Italian restaurant. It seems like when they post things on Instagram but it's definitely not, unfortunately.
